I am purchasing a 1938 Ford truck. The cab fenders and such are in fantastic shape for its age. However, the ch***is is beyond repair. I have fabricated NHRA Pro Mod ch***is as a young man and am accustom to ch***is fabrication and motification, but this particular frame is TOAST. Anybody know of a good place to get one with little investment cause lets face it im gonna cut it up BIG time. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just build a full frame for it, easier than a Pro-Mod car for sure ! You gonna straight axle or go with more modern A-Arm ??

Yes, A-Arm front suspension. I am at a toss up if I will make a four link Pro-mod style rear or an independant set up.

Guess I should have posted why. Oldskooliron nailed it...RAT ROD is foul language on this board.

    Just some friendly advice.

http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11882 Model a frame tech. Maybe you can use some ideas.

There is a tech archive on here that might help. It is where I found this thread^^^

Im thinking about chopping the top about 4 1/2 to 7 inches, but i dont want to run into the issue of a toaster slot for a rear window.

coupla 2x4's a meat thermometer and a universal trans-dapt mount from SPEEDWAY MOTORS should help. But then again you just gotta look harder there's stuff out there.Quit selling AMWAY and try begetting friendships in the automotive field.
