  5. I'm going tonight, I don't care about the venue change, I'm gonna relax, spend a couple days playing with the boy by the pool and ridin' rides at Dollywood, I'm gonna look at cool cars and not look at the ones that don't catch my eye, I'm gonna eat some good food (cream cheese pancakes at Log Cabin in Gatlinburg are heaven on earth), and most of all I'm gonna have a hell of a good time. Look for me drivin my uncles's red '41 Pontiac convertible as he doesn't like to drive and I'm more than happy to!

  6. I'm gonna respectfully challenge that statement......
    Protect and serve? You mean...
enforcing city statutes like no easy-up tents---even on private property(motels), no chairs on the sidewalks, no vehicles without current license plates on private property(parking lots), no vending(yeah, sit with parts in a pickup and see if you don't get h***led), no parking/standing in private parking lots(stop your car for a minute to talk to a friend and get h***led by the bicycle cops), no motorized vehicles on the roadway without plates and safety equipment(don't ride your Whizzer on the shoulder, kids)
My goodness---those people must be IDIOTS to break those important laws!!

Yeah, I'm glad they're there for the drunks and burnout fools(most ALWAYS locals)....but they really could lighten up on the other **** if you know what I mean....Unfortunately, they don't.

The weather forecast is mid 80's and a slight chance of ****tered showers.

Looks to be another great weekend.

This sounds worth going for all just by itself.:D

  16. Just go and have a good time. I've been to all of 'em and never got h***led by the Man, even in my misspent youth. Of course you gotta act like a grown up. I've seen the cops do some pretty silly things in PF during Rod Runs and I've seen them abuse people too. The trick is to be able to spot trouble coming and know how far you need to be away from it when it gets there.

Hey - be sure to go help out Max Grundy - he is supposed to be there selling his merch. Not everyday that an artist like Max shows up to Shades of the Past

  21. Denise,
I had them this morning for breakfast. I've been smiling all day, they are that good!

Went to the show lot this morning after breakfast. All was a little confusing but we did get a gr***y spot and put our canopy up. Don't know what to expect tomorrow but there's alot of nice cars here already.

pops is there now, but has said it will be his last one (and my uncle won the give away car a few years back) the combination of new location (asfault) and the new policy about no canopies anywhere but gr*** is going to really hurt them.

I like a little shade as much as anyone but damn.... Since "rod runs" don't really exist anymore, not being able to pop a tent isn't going to keep me from enjoying a car show.

They moved the show out of that traffic-strangling, dust-bowl, hell hole of a "farm". I hated that place. Face it, it's September in TN. Its going to be hot wether you're on gr*** or pavement. I went out to the show this afternoon & actually like the location & venue. Much nicer that last year. The top of the hill even has the potential to catch a little breeze if we're lucky.

If all we have to ***** about is not being able to pitch a tent, we've got it pretty good.

I agree ... I was there Thursday and today ... FRIDAY.

I like the new location even better than the old one.

And the SWAP meet looked better and BIGGER ...
I found a few cool things today and looking forward to more of Saturday.

I am not at WORK ... the weather was in the high 70's / low 80's and it has a LIGHT shower for maybe 10 minutes so IT IS ALL GOOD.

    :)
