Are you taking a car, like the Vette, or spectating?

  5. I haven't decided yet. I don't mind spending money to put a car in the "fun" ones. I don't know if this will be fun. If it's not, I don't wanna be stuck there. Thoughts?

The one downtown Monrovia is on Saturday Sept 11th. Starts at 9:00 - 3:00. Says that street parking is from 7:00 - 9:00. $30 to register at the event.

I am going to take the '32 3-w. I ***ume that you can leave early with it being downtown, but not always true.

The Monrovia show is one of the good ones. Hosted by Street Rods Forever. Always a good time. if you really can't stay until 3, see that they park you on one of the side streets off Myrtle. If you are on Myrtle, you are there for the duration.

I went there once. The line to get in was so packed, I parked on a side street and walked in. Beautiful area, but on the main drag, I can see where it would be difficult to leave. If I go, I'll take the D/D and a camera. Its more like the Main Street Show in El Segundo. Funny, my wife gets bored at those shows. She likes the pin-ups and rockabilly crowd.

  12. I'll prolly go "shopping" there in the A to B car after Trompers swap meet

If you had cruzer you could go to Bellflower 11 Sept but it would cost you a little more gas.

I usually walk the Bellflower show, hit Johnny Reb's for a hot link sandwich, where they have Pabst on tap.

I was thinking about going to the trompers swap first then down to monrovia with the truck. I figured trompers at 6am leave there at 7am and then to monrovia. should be about 15 minute drive. Will it be hard to get street parking by then or do you need to be there early to get in and park? I dont plan on being there all day so im not interested in getting parking on the main.
    thoughts?

Yup, exit @ Bellflower and go north. Park is the second block from FWY and Flora Vista is the most northern end of the event.

  21. What time you going? It says 4-10...can I ***ume all the cars will be parked by4? If so, I'll leave the Valley around 3. I'm not showing, I'm shopping

I hear what your say'n. If it wasn't for a few good top ends on some of the gals :) and some nitro up the nose it would of been a waist. Before I get **** from anyone, I made it a point to look at Watson's car. So that counts also.

Man, am I glad I didn't go now. Instead, I went to the Broilers 1st anniversary. First off, they closed the left turn lane near the freeway and had to detour. Got on the freeway which was pretty nice until the n/b 710 at the 105, it was jammed. I quickly got over and exited at Garfield. What a mistake! It was a detour for freeway traffic. Crawling along in the heat with a 4 speed and heavy clutch, I was dying. Finally came to a cross street and boggied over to Old School Road. Nice easy sailing to the Broiler.

It would be good to see some Hamb brothers in the parking lot. NOT!!! I never saw so many Scions in one place. Plus a few PT Cruisers. There were about 6 street rods (sigh). I thought maybe, I was too early and they would start arriving. I wasn't hungry, but after an hour of waiting, I decided to eat and hopefully, someone would show.

After I ate, I looked around the lot and even more Scions had shown up. Oh well, the car needed a good run to charge the battery, I headed home. Lo and behold, the freeway ramp was closed so I had to do another detour........
