Didn't see that this was posted here....you guys have got to check this out. Text below from this link: http://www.dogfightmag.com/2010/08/a-1964-fairlane-hits-nurburgring/ This is RAD. Some schmuck got enough balls and cash together in order to get his Holman Moody prepared 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 to Germany. The final goal? Attack Nurburgring. Now, typically when you watch in-car Ring videos you hear small displacement motors with lots of valves screaming in a high pitched tone while you watch the driver smoothly caress the car through the track. Its a ballet of sorts. This is something different. This is an American monster literally attacking the track while the driver does his best to contain the power within. Its not a ballet, its a war. He p***es other cars like they are standing still!
Hot damn that looks like a lot of fun! The engine sounds sweet running around the track and he does p*** everything else on the track as well!
Nice sounding and it has to be a 427 HR.Motor was never in any bind and more left for sure. Was good to see the muscle car do it's thing again.
This is bad*** beyond belief. RULER Anymore details on the car? Motor/trans/suspension setup... wicked as hell
The ring has this type of races all the time. Im in the military and just got back from Germany a few weeks ago. I've had my Harley out there a few times on the ring. The ring is a one way toll road open to the public to run their cars unless they are having a race that day. About every 3 months they run antique race cars on the track, granted most are european race cars from the 40-70's but still great to see them come out of the garage and race again.
At first I thought this was some video game. DAMN!! Guess not. Reminds me of the glory days of the Shelby R models. Great video. Pure brute cubic inches.
Awesome! "Ford" is German for excitement, isn't it? I think my '64 Fairlane would have been far less successful. That sounds SOOO good coming at you on the straightaway...
Theres a bunch more info on this over at dogfightmag: http://www.dogfightmag.com/blog/page/3/ Fourth entry down...
You boys do realize that DOGFIGHT is a sister site to the HAMB? Run by Joyo and Ryan..........................
I wonder if the speeds indicated on the lower right of the screen are in MPH or Kph? If its MPH he was hitting 220+ at times. If its in Kph he was still hitting @ 135. What a great video - that thing is a beast.
Nice to see some brute horsepower on a track that can handle what the car has in it. Great video lets see more . Thanks , Rob.
I just checked it out and wondered if it was the same Ryan. Cool! Now I got another place to read about Fords. The video and related web pages were all fascinating! I'm gonna watch the video again in the morning with a good cup of coffee. That will start my day just right!
