Take the goofy clips of bottom lip, loose the fuel line, Take the S/Steel hoop off, remove the bolts along the windshield and lift it out... Did I forget anything guys?
It's easy. If you are going to use that tank again make sure to get the br*** strainer thing that fits inside the tank. It will save you from many a long walk home. Ask me how I know...
You all forgot to mention the screws that attach it to the firewall. Use a screwdriver that is a good fit to the slot, give it a good wack with a hammer, P.B Blaster or other lube and they should come out. If you snap a few off Snyders lists new repo screws. Replacing the cowl lacing is another story, try to preserve it if it looks good to start with......You may need to take the windsheild out to make this a bit easier.
buy the tool they offer at brattons to take out the old gas guage.. it actually worked to get mine out.. worth the 8 bux ...
