Hey all Joined weeks ago, and use the forum for info whilst building the truck and thought it was time to say hello. Im 19 (just), live in the UK, wishing I was living in the states! Ive got a 58 f100 styleside at the moment, that is mid way through a body off resto, with a lot of modifications and metal work going in to it. The trucks going to be sweet when done, its a year in so far, and probably another year till sorted, its all just come back from the blasters, well what is left of it! Unfortunately I have to drive a Peugeot 106 as my daily driver, but once the pickup is sorted I'm going to build a 30's sedan as a daily drive. Chopped, channeled, Z'd, on a fully homebuilt ch***is, but keeping everything looking really old school. Anyway, thats kinda me. Cheers Leeroy
Leeroy,.................Welcome to the H.A.M.B..................from Arkansas City, KS. You are only 19, you've plenty of time to migrate to the States. Wherever we are is only as good as we perceive it to be, and that is in direct proportion to the amount of how much of ourselves we choose to put into that moment,,,,,sounds as though you are doing OK to me. Did not intend to sound preachy, but the gr*** always appears greener somewhere else. Good Luck , and enjoy the H.A.M.B. firstnomad www.angelfire.com/jazz/flatlandstudio
Welcome from a former Brit. I left 8 years ago. Lots of Brits on here too.....and be prepared for abuse over the use of the R#t rod thing in your user name.....
Firstnomad, So true! Just everytime I have been over to the states, everything is so much better, be it that everywhere I have been in the states had a junkjard full of 30's to 60's trucks, sedans, coupes you name it, you could just go and get that part cheep from around the corner. Here you have no chance, and have to ship it back over from the states! To add to it the hot rod and 40's culture just doesnt thrive as much here. But as you say again, I cant really complain, and have the years ahead of me still. A32Flathead, Im sure I will get some abuse of having RAT ROD in my name, it was avaliable thats all. Anyway if thats what people what to build and or call there rides, so be it. Its just gets overused as a term for junk parts! grrr! Cheers Leeroy
