Wondering what type of meet is this,, How dows it compare to Cedar Rapids Iowa, Springfield Mo, Peotone Ill, Jefferson WI, Elkhart WI,, Its quite a drive for me,, but more than willing to go depending on what its like,, Thanks for any replys!
Really good meet. I have gone for 30 years. Probably 800-900 vendors. Usually a good assortment of parts. Kind of up and down terrain, easy to get your vehicle in if you need to pick up parts. I was having lunch with a gentleman from Ohio last year and he said he had been coming for 15 years or so, mainly to buy car grills! He said the selection was always good and prices much cheaper than back to the east. That surprised me that someone would come that far but he said he loved the meet, although parts were getting harder to find. Dont come if you are looking for a vehicle to purchase, the car corral has been garbage for the last 5-8 years. Ther are however some nice project vehicles for sale on trailers throughout the meet grounds. You never know what you will find at this meet. I rate it four stars out of 5 possible.
Went last two years, pretty good meet. Some late model parts but plenty of vintage stuff too. Just hope it dont rain it gets messy.
Man, ,I live 51/2 hours away and didnt take Friday off,, I may have to leave extremely early Friday night and make a road trip. Im looking for some radios and other odds and ends for about anything,, I have been going to Cedar rapids for about 10 years now, and always wanted to Greenfield as they always put out a flyer,, what time does it open?
Well I have decided to go,, anyone have any last details,, have you been there yet today? Ill need to leave at 2am to get there by 7am,, a long drive ahead
It's usually a good swap meet. Plenty of vendors and a good variety of parts. However, when it gets to be around lunch time, go somewhere else for food. The food there is pathetic. An example..... I bought a "hamburger" there a couple years ago. It was simply browned hamburger meat (not a patty) without the fat drained off on a half-dollar sized bun. I lost my appetite. And I think I paid a couple bucks for that gut bomb. All-in-all, it's worth your time to go to early wheels of Iowa swap meet.
MWS Thanks,, I just called the grounds and got ahold of John,, He said it was starting to rain a bit,, just wondering if its all early stuff or do they have 50's 60's parts etc,, Thanks for teh reply
I decided to come for two days this year. Today paid off real well for me today. I got some good deals on needed parts. I should be saying it sucks and everyone stay home. Lol. 5 hour drive for us.
Stick Shift,, I should also be saying it was not a good one,, but I need to come on Friday next year ,, as I heard it was even busier with vendors , but alot left before Saturday,, Alot were packing up and leaving at 2:30pm and moving on,, I was done by then,, so it worked out for me as well
Hey Seabeebu3 I wish I could have met up with you. Did you buy any cowboy boots? We don't see a lot of those at swaps in our neck of the woods. No, I think there was more vendors on saturday than friday for sure. I did pick up some stuff on saturday too. I did see some good deals saturday that were left from friday. That steel 32 5 window was a good deal at $4500. ha ha
Yeah I thought that one was alittle high,, No cowboys boots though- couldnt find my size , and I didnt eat on the grounds per recommendations from some unlucky guy last year.
