I have had this body stashed away in the shed for a few years now. My 14 year old son keeps pestering me to get it up and running. So to keep him interested and involved we have decided to get it built up and ready to run in the flathead meltdown at the Hotrod Drags. (September 18/19) This is how it all started at the beginning of August. Panels are now all bolted together. If I can't get any top wood I am going to make a steel box section frame for the top. Mid August and we started back on the sedan and have now beefed up the roof with some 25x50 and 20x20 box section With all that done we have now marked out the body ready for a 5" chop ;D
had a day off work 16th August so we decided to chop the roof. We took 5" out of the roof. Ricky making the first cut No going back now ;D All tacked in place, just got to finish welding it all up and chop the doors.
When we were roof chopping the Coupe on August 21st the power went out and someone had the bright idea to start on the sedan while we were waiting for the power to go back on. So in came the T Then it was all hands on to strip it down, the end of an era for the poor old T :'(. the old girl done us well over the years. All stripped down Then on with the Sedan body So its now just resting on the rear wheels, next job is to make up the floors and bolt the body down.
After we finished the coupe me and Pete finished lining up and tacking the rear panel End of August and got a bit more done, time is ticking down till the drags. The body is now mounted to the frame and most of the floor is tacked in.
Got a bit more done this week. Started working on the rear inner fenders Cut out the metal and put a few bead rolls in to stiffen it up. Welded the inner pannel on Then hammered the seam over a curved stake to form a radius Welded to the car
Excellent progress. Pretty kool your 14 year old son continued to pester you to get the sedan completed, you are very lucky... Anyways, looks great, nice chop, etc.....
