Should I trade?? what do you think

    OK, so the coupe looks cool, but you realize those years had more issues with the floor boards rusting out then anything else? The body looks great, but the floors can still be gone at least back to the frame on both sides at the doors.

    The coupe will also still have a flathead 6 and a 3 speed standard trans (most likely). You wanted a cruiser, are you prepared to live with the flathead 6 and standard trans? If the original drive train is still OK to use they can be decent for a cruiser, but if they are not good, do you have the ability to upgrade the drive train? Then you still have to deal with the floors, the old outdated brakes, and manual steering.

    Understand, I'd do the coupe in a heartbeat, but I have the ability to build it the way I'd want it. I wanted to be sure you knew all the drawbacks of an older car. Many places (but not all) can handle whatever comes up on the Imperial, but most (all but a select few) will be lost when it comes to doing anything to the 50. Gene

    I dig the big Imp but I'd run with the coupe for sure. Better era. More potential. Follow you dream man, not your wallet. What would you rather be cruising in?

    Personally I would rather have the 1950.
