Hello guys and gals all over the world! Let me introduce myself for a moment. I'm Wilf (short for Wilfred) from The Netherlands and I am currently waiting for my first real car to come over from Sweden. The car I am anxiously waiting for is a '49 Chrysler Coupe Royal (C45) with the stock engine and ****** but not original. I have had a long time love for American cars, especially those from '38 up to '51, with my alltime favorites being the '49 Buick Sedanette, the other GM sedanette-type cars, the bignosed shoeboxes and the '38 Buick coupe. I have owned a few American cars before but never my dream car because those were made of dreams (and very expensive, so I thought). Cars I owned were a '76 Dodge W200 (my first car), Lincoln Mk 3 from 1968 1/2, Lincoln Mk 4 from '75, Olds F85 from '62, Plymouth Valiant from '65 and most recently a Plymouth Satellite Custom from '71. I am very glad to finally become an owner and driver of a real car, a car made of dreams and a car that I don't wanna lose. The future of the car will be a mild kustom, I will first make it driveable and just drive with the flathead 6 and 3-on-the-tree and only make some interior and exterior mods. The first thing I wanna do is upgrade the wiring and lights, then get some nice wheels (WWW) etc. I don't know if and when I'll swap out the driveline. A V8 would be cool of course but I'd rather have a flathead Ford or old Hemi in it than a too new looking 350/350 combo. We'll see, first get it here and drive it... After all this jibber jabber it's time for some pics of course. I am very curious if somebody maybe even knows or knew this Californian car (or can decipher the VIN: 70746356), so here goes: Maybe some day I'll go all out and change it to something like this: Thank you for this wonderful message board and see you around! Cheers, Wilf

Would love to hook up w/some rodders there to for a cruise, beer, etc.I introduced Lenny to cl***ic cars when he married my wifes sister last summer. Now he,s here in Florida and hooked like the rest of us poor souls.(o:}Best way to reach us is on our www.facebook.com page under"Atkinson Brothers"Take care,Jonny P.S. I was in Amsterdam 2 weeks ago for the 1st time and the 1st day there i heard a roar of a bbc motor echoing through the c****s.later that night at dinner i got a glimpse of a blue/white 69 or 70 Chevelle roaring through the streets bellowing his power amidst all the bicyclers.it was pretty awesome!!!!Do you know him???

Welcome from Florida. Your car looks really low and cool. My family used to own one just like that many years ago. Jimbo
Thanks for all the welcomes Since I am still a FNG and I will not open a project topic just yet (I need to learn some metal fabrication and welding first) I will put some updates in this topic now. The idea of kustomizing this car have been postponed because I could buy my second choice dream car (first choice dream car is a '49 Sedanette but I will probably never afford one ), so I did. I bought it in Sweden and drove it back to The Netherlands: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VobHoPeYK1c In the mean time I did some minor work on the Chrysler, but only very minor. I work 18 hours a day 6 days a week between august and june so I don't have a lot of time at hand The Chrysler engine runs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXslhJUhXo0 Anyway, here are some pictures of my DeSoto which I am really stoked about. Me and my girl on the DeSoto Yes I broke a few bones
Those are my circa's, I use them to longboard; pump long discance, slalom, going fast and break some bones...
I like your road movie a lot. 4000km driving non-stop for a car in Sweden is called p***ion my friend. Nice Desoto btw.
Yeah, the previous owner thought I was a bit crazy to do it that way... And he was right! I have much, much respect for the Swedes and their living car culture. It is fantastic to see the cruises, all the beautiful cars (Swedes have GREAT taste), all the people watching and enjoying the cars and all the craftsmanship there is in Sweden. If I could I would migrate to Sweden tomorrow. Only thing holding me back is finding suitable work Your Buick is great too! As I already said in this topic: The '49 Sedanette is my number one dream car, sedanettes rule big time! (so I have a place in my heart for a '48 too)
