I've been looking for a rearend out of a 53 powerglide car with 3:55's to put in my 52 chevy for some time now. I manged to find one with good gears but the axle tubes are hacked from another project. Does anyone know if the gears can be put into my housing and what it would take? Thanks.

Just pull the enclosed driveline/third member, and swap it into yours. You won't have to remove your housing to do this, even if there's a trans in the car. You may have to remove the trans access panel from the floor, or unbolt the housing so you can "tilt" the ***embly in order to get it out/in. Butch/56sedandelivery.
