Just traded my motorcycle for a 23' T bucket. Prior owner couldn't get it to run correctly. (discount)
1.No vacuum line to distributor, this should hook to one of the carbs? Does it matter which one?

2.No vac line to trans modulator. There is a about a 4" piece of tubing just hanging out under there.

Now unless I am missing something, I don't see any vac ports on the intake. What do I do.
    Thanks,
    Gil

If its a Holley the dist vac port is on the left side of the front valve body and you can use one of the front vac ports -one on the front right or larger tube for the transmission line. Should be one on the pass side of the carb also thats used for PB--This is all Holley stuff

I read an article last night where they said that a chevy vac advance should not be hooked up to the right side of the carb. Something about it working backwards. So I am still at a loos where to hook up the distributor and the trans vac line.

Is that blue hose on the underside of the tunnel plenum going to PCV?

Yes the blue hose is going to the PCV on the driver side valve cover.

  10. let me see if i remember correctly: manifold vacuum (full time) is at the throttle plate or below, metered vacuum (part time) is above the throttle plate so any vacuum port above throttle plate is what you want.

I must be an idiot or making this harder than it needs to be. The only vac ports on these carbs are on the metering blocks and I thought that you could not hook the distributor to these. The only vac port on the intake is where the blue hose is attached for the pcv. Can I splice into this for the trans and the distributor or is the pcv a vacuum hog and would it it interrupt the vac signal for the other two? Or should I be looking at carb spacers with vac ports? Or drilling and tapping another hole into the intake?
