After starting in motor sport as a Quarter Midget driver, and proceding to Drag Racing, (413 powered K-88 Scotty Feen rail) a Chrysler Hemi powered '40 Ford coupe (1956 Chrysler 300B 354" engine) and later on to road racing cars including a Formula Vee, an aluminum V8 powered Rattenbury Mark 4 (inspired by the Geni can-am car) and a Cosworth BDD powered Daren sports racer, my son and I returned to quarter midget racing. This forum seems the logical place to inquire, if there is already a national "Antique Quarter Midget ***n", or if, indeed, there is any interest in forming one... Cheers, Darryl Clarke
i don't have the answer to your question, but would love to see some pics of your rides if you have any. also welcome from oklahoma.
Welcome from New Zealand. You might want to search the community pages to see if there's a spot for lovers of antique quarter midgets (had a couple of races in 'em myself when I was a kid in SoCal - a big step up from go-karts). If not, you can start your own and see who comes on board.
I'm familiar with who you are ! Sorry that I am so late with this reply but I just happened upon this thread . I was researching Wahlborg inc and now know you drove the second q/m ever seen in Alaska a factory driver at a young age . Shoot I even have a picture of you on one of the straightaways of that day . I'm restoring a early model Wahlborg . Still don't know if I'm going to bolt the hoop ( rollbar ) on or not I'm tring for the late 40s early 50s look . later dww56
