Wow!! Nick was my uncle and that willys stuck in mind as the coolest car! i remember it as a 3 or 4 yr old and i loved the slicks and putting my hand up that big chrome collector. i always loved hot rods, drag cars, anything with big tires. it was a metalflake purple color last i saw it. i remember the parachute too. a relative linked me to this forum and i'm really excited to see the willys restored!!! never knew where it went and hoped it was out there somewhere. i hope to see it again in person one day. now all i need is too much money so i can pick it up!
Just saw that it is up for sale on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1940...ars_Trucks&hash=item519503767a#ht_37393wt_907
The story written by Too Tall in The Rodder's Journal was great. And the mystery of the whereabouts of the builder's is a riveting.
Michael Is a cool guy with alot of cool stuff, I bought a couple of caddy rear clips to make couches out of from him....Oh yeah and you see the phillips 66 sign in the background of the pics? It now stands in front of my shop......I can't swing buying the willys pickup right now..But he has a 50's diner car I am thinking about...can't wait to see the hot rod deluxe issue
