Great pics, other than front tires and rims being a lot wider than in years past the cars all look great.
That cross ram intake on the Nailhead is wild, I've never seen one.

Terri----I remember when you & your brother Roy were just little "squirts" when we attended Crow Cyn. 2 years in a row,(1970-71) boy! that was a dusty place!

My son rode the rumble seat from Thousand Oaks to Crow Cyn. & back, he was 12 then (now 52).

Like Todd, I took many slides, but don't know how to put them on here,-----maybe later,-------Don:):)

They must be coming from Ott's Drive-In, which was just behind where the photographer was standing. Ott's was the biggest drive-in on the west coast, but I can't find a photo of it anywhere... :(

    @glenn33 & @falcongeorge -

I love 'em too! ... it would be great if someone started remaking the Goodyear Blue Streaks ... I'd certainly buy a set of "bigs & littles" for our Coupe:

    ... Coker, Are you listening?

Just guessing, but I would think the goldline late sixties road-race/indy firestones would be a better possibility, as they seem to have a more "enthusiast friendly" relationship with companies like Coker than Goodyear does. Goodyear does sell so-called "bluestreaks" to vintage road-race guys, but they look NOTHING like the original ones, the sidewall lettering and tread pattern are completely different. And your red duece looks KILLER! Does it still look pretty much like the photos? The drilled, split bones, the flat-spoke americans on the front, MAN that looks GOOD!

Sorry, I don't have any other pics of that roadster ... at least not while it was at the '69 Andy's Picnic ... but I think I remember seeing a pic of it (the whole car) in another batch of "Rod Run" slides.

If I find any more shots of it, I'd be more than happy to scan them and send high-rez JPEGs to you and/or your friend via e-mail.

Please post a pic or two of what the roadster looks like today!

    @steel rebel -

It's kinda sad that Dennis doesn't know what happened to his old T ... I always loved that roadster ... there was something about its orange paint and simple "Tommy the Greek" stripping that "spoke to me".

I scanned through that issue of HOT ROD, but I guess I missed the picture of the DeBenedictis RPU  ... sure enough, here it is:

    hrdp_1009_22_o-1966_to_1967_oakland_roadster_show-30_t_bucket_roadsters.JPG
There were more than 30 of these T-buckets in the '67 show. Dennis DeBenedictis' went in the pickup cl*** because it had a
short 'gl*** bed behind a gennie steel body with a hand-fabbed dash. It runs a '63 Vette 327 with a polished quick-change rear
and blue-stripe Goodyears on five-spoke Americans. It has the '60s Bay Area Roadster look in Omaha Orange with Tommy
the Greek striping, and the chrome bed hooks indicate he strapped luggage on the back for road trips. Some got driven.

I think I still have quite a few slides left from '72 or '72 as well. I will look for them. I still have my Andy's T shirt collection from then until the last one, almost all in the original plastic bags. They remind me of the good times we had.Andy treated us all like family.I bought a set of fully polished Americans from him one Saturday afternoon. I didn't have any cash with me at the time he just said "no problem" pay me when you can. I promptly went home and borrowed the moeny from my brother and went right back down to Mission Road and paid him. I never forgot that.

The T-Bucket in the background of this pic:

    Miles Foster's EXPRESSION @ '69 Andy's Picnic.jpg

... is actually not Andy's 1970 AMBR winning T-Bucket ... but rather another Art Himsl painted T-Bucket named "EXPRESSION" ... owned by Miles Foster of San Carlos, CA.

Miles also showed his car at the 1970 Grand National (Oakland) Roadster Show:

    Bob (@hotrod1940) - cool pics!

    Here's a few more pics of Andy's '70 AMBR winning T-Bucket:

NOTE: All 9 of these images were culled from the H.A.M.B. ... most from @Born a HotRodGal's very cool
Andy Brizio's photo vault, you asked for it thread.

@dermott - Art Himsl is still living in the Bay Area (Concord) ... check out his website.

Great shots by your pops, Todd- I love the overhead view of all the cars in the lot, and how they were all DRIVEN there. This was right before the early 70s era of stuffed animals, elaborate displays, and Show Rods that couldn't be driven.

    Andy Brizio got it-
Its about driving your car, hanging out with car friends, and the parking lot WAS the show! :D

That has always been one of my favorite T-buckest too. I little more subtle than some of the others. Another one that really "got me" was dark blue one with the rochester injected Pontiac that what featured in PHR in '65.

I forgot to thank Mark (@Royalshifter) Skipper for bringing this Andy (@AndySS) Southard Jr. R&C article to my attention.

In March of 2009, I received a H.A.M.B. private message from Mark en***led "Nov 1969 R&C" ... that PM included this image:

    HEMI32 5wd Coupe (from ROD&Custom - Nov '69 - pg13).jpg

I immediately PMed Mark back to thank him ... and also mentioned that I feared that my Nov '69 copy of R&C had been water-damaged (from a leaky roof in our shop) ... about a month later, a package from Skip arrived ... you guessed it ... Mark sent me his copy!

You might have also noticed this image in the article:

    Keith Bush Deuce Tudor (from ROD&Custom - Nov '69 - pg13).jpg

Keith (@kb1939) Bush has owned his '32 Tudor since 1956 ... and still owns the car today!

Keith's Deuce was pretty much a fixture at ANDY'S PICNIC ... I can't remember a year that the *****in' black & copper '32 sedan wasn't in attendance.

Here's a few more pics of it over the years:

Keith Bush Deuce Tudor - circa 1959.gif Keith Bush Deuce Tudor @ 1966 or 1967 Oakland Roadster Show.jpg
Keith Bush Deuce Tudor - HRM Nov '70 - pg 102.jpg Keith Bush Deuce Tudor - HRM Nov '70 - pg 103.jpg Keith Bush Deuce Tudor circa 1970s.JPG
Keith Bush Deuce Tudor @ Snow White Ltd.jpg Keith Bush Deuce Tudor @ Goodguys Pleasanton (by Rick Finch).jpg Keith Bush Deuce Tudor @ 2009 GNRS (by Brian Curtis).jpg

Unfortunately, this past July (on their way to the Northwest Deuce Day event in Victoria BC), Keith & his wife LaJune were in involved in a terrible accident ... they both are on the mend ... but the car will have to be completely rebuilt.

The wreck is chronicled here on the HAMB ... see Wreck on I-5 near Woodland, WA.
