Coker's recommended wheel width for normal sized bias ply tires (say 7.60x15) is 5 1/2" to 7".

I've got a chance to get a couple of chrome reverse factory wheels in 15x8 size. I'd love to hear somebody tell me it'll be possible for me to use them. 7.60x15 is probably the biggest I want to go in the rear (maybe 8.20).

So what's the smallest bias ply tire you can fit on a 15x8 wheel?

    Thanks!

Royalshifter's T Bucket....you know the one it's black with a top on it. I will tell you that there are a few things that really drive me nuts and one of them is a wheel that is too wide for the tire. Caseu and point is the front wheel and tire combo on the Kennedy Bros tribute to the Devil deuce. It's just looks weird when the wheel is pushing the limits on a tire.

So if the Skipper says 7" is about the widest you want to go on an 8.20....well then that's enough said. I would be trying to find the right wheels for your truck instead of half ***ing it and compromising.

Just get some tires for now!!!!

I agree with JeffreyJames.. I have a pair of 8.20x15"s and I'm debating whether to put them on some 6 1/2" rims I have.........

Hey Terd you know what? If you want 8" shiny wheels ask Jeremy if you can run those Boyd's Smoothie II's with the 255-45-15's out back. That'd be rad huh?

    Stop ****ing around!!!!

Either stick with the 6" or run 8.20 Slicks out back because 8" wheel isn't too big for that tire. Might look cool dude. THink you can have Hurst make you tri lines just like my old T!!!

Hahahaha! Easy, Delton told me I should start a thread asking the question.

Oh and now who's not answering pm's, lol. :D

And I AM trying to find the right wheels. I've got a WTB thread going. If anybody's listening, I need two 15x6 six lug chrome factory wheels, reversed or not.

Not the best pic...but here are 8.20-15 BFG's on 15X8's on the back of my brother's 41 pickup. I think they look good.

You are probably looking for G60-15's for those wheels. They were bias-plys thru the late 60's.

I don't like the sidewall. Looking for pie crust firestones.

Neal, thanks for the pic. That doesn't look bad. I'd like to see a full on side shot though to be sure?

Absolutely correct. I've got the word out on the street though. I am actively searching.
