Well, it (the 55) finally followed me home yesterday, thought I'd start my own build thread....and stop lurking.

Oh yeah, heres one of the custom touches....

Working on getting the ***le ironed out at the moment, waiting till then to start bagging and tagging it. Hope to use the Fatman Fabricators front frame stub if I can swing the cost, along with a 9in rear with triangulated four-link and adjustable coilovers on all four corners. I'm sensing Santa will be bringing me a Blue Thunder 429 2x4 intake for X-mas.... along with a pile of patch panels and a new wire spool for my MIG welder, got plenty of floorpan and rocker work in my future.

Missing the original bench seat, door panels and dash mounted tach along with the original motor and trans (got that part already covered :)

Looking for parts suppliers/catalogs anyone have any favorites for T-Bird/Ford parts?

I'll keep updating when I get things done.

    Thanks
    Rick Bender

I am glad to hear that you are not going to restore it. These are bad *** cars and deserve to be altered

I bought one last fall in about the same condition. What is your finished style going to be? I may make mine into a 60's g***er.Don't know what I have until it is stripped to bare metal. My door columns look great, thats the main thing !!! Kept in touch. tkelsey@ameritech.net keep this thread going.....

If your not planning to use that rag roof, those frame ***emblys bring pretty good money for your build fund.

That sure would look great with a period correct FE or even a Y-block... I'm not feeling the Lima 429... Good luck with it though. It's cool to see another one brought back from the dead...

My original plan was to do the Mustang II front end and a 9in rearend, but lately I keep thinking about the car "War Bird".....

I'll wait till I get the body put back together, before I make that decision, but I do have a Quick Change with a spool in the ba*****t I was saving for a street rod....

    P.S

Whats the best way to defunk a car thats been stored in a shed and used as a ra****s outhouse? I'm tempted to puncture a fabreeze can and toss it in, it hits you like a dead fish in the face when you open the trunk!

Bungi: Why in the world replace superior T Bird suspension with tin can Mustang II???
    Is it the 'tubular arms'?
Replace the wearing pieces in the T Bird members, set it up with a little more positive caster (2 degrees,+/-) and drive it. Try it.

The war bird belongs to my good friend. The pics are from the Canton, Ga cruise night. If you would like any more pics or info, let me know.
