1934 Ford Pick-Up Just got it last night

Where are the best place's around Michigan?

I just picked up a clean 34 today & need fenders & running boards, flip hood Possibly a front end. Mustang II or OEM?

I will have to post up some picts Got it on Ebay after the auction ended. A month after it ended.

Would 33-34 car fenders work for the front?

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance

 

no, car fenders are different.... no to mustang...go stock with a drop...

Steel 33-34 Ford pickup runningboards have been made as reproductions for decades, with stock diamonds or smooth.
Fenders have always been difficult to find, sometimes a couple of pairs of rough fenders can be worked into a good pair but can you do the work or afford to pay someone to do it?
Rootlieb has made new hoods for decades too.

 

I believe that one of the two front pickup fenders typically came from the factory with a wheel well. Must rodders don't like the wheel well, so some fab work must be done to remove it.

 

Can the brookville 32 roadster pu fenders be used for a 32-34 pu?

 

The trucks in 32 used the p***enger car fenders and hood. The 33-34 trucks used their own fenders, hood, and lights, with the big truck fenders being a little (about 1 1/2") wider than the pickups. Reproductions are available for the 33-34 pickups.

 

Or you can use 1 1/2 ton 33-34 front fenders which don't have the spare tire well. Ford did not change the wheel opening on the larger trucks until 35. I have one on the front of my 34. Rear P/U fenders have been pretty much unobtainium for decades. Unless you are building a high buck hot rod, I'd just get fibergl*** fenders.



I built this one 30 years ago with fibergl*** fenders and reproduction metal running boards because they were hard to find back then. There is nothing wrong with gl*** fenders on a street driver. IMHO

Prolly be fenderless driver for awhile till I can Gather up the parts.

I have doors, floors, windshield frame rear gl***, a 33 grill & 34 headlights with the brace so far.. A good Jalopy start, My first real oldie.
I was lucky to get it before his dad cut it up as seen with the sharpie marks for the cuts.

What is the big difference in the 33 & 34 grill I was told it was a 33 as seen in the truck bed.

The 34 Ford Pickup/Panel grille has a chrome diecast radiator ornament from the radiator cap down to the bars in which the Ford blus oval mounts. The flat area would have small holes around it for the clips which hold the stainless trim surrounding the bars.

The 33 and 34 grills are only different in that the 34 has provisions for a fancier emblem. See the pics of the grille on my 34 in my album here.
Stay away from any 32 fenders. they are different in sizes.

That is a 33 grill. The grill itself has the recess for the blue oval. The 34 grill has a raised section on top for the chrome bull nose to match up with and the blue oval mounts in the chrome piece.

Yes. I used a 33 on my first 34. I didn't want the V8 in the louvers.

I've got a set of front fenders (one is steel (vgc) and the other is "new" gl*** and a very nice '34 pickup front end with juice brakes..also the rear end. Both are complete with springs, steering etc. Olduffer2

 

You could do what HOTPRIMER and his friend Dave Dulin did. Mount your 34 cab on a 32 frame and use 32 fenders and other sheet metal. There's a thread on it. Something like Confused 32-34 p/u. Check out HOTRODPRIMERS stats.

 

when looking for front fenders, watchout for the front of the fenders that sit on the frame under the grille, 33/34 angle outward to acommodate the front apron whereas 32 go strait

 

I have a nice four piece '34 hood you can have for $50 and Greyhound if you have a Greyhound station

 

looks like a great foundation for a ride--wish mine was that good to begin with. have one spare left side fender if interested.

 

Wow appreciate all the response here you guys been getting the new shop ready all summer.

Back on the site for the cold months. When we can get back in the garage & start tinkering. Nice to have a shop but my stuff never gets into it.

Just an update here I came across a new frame & wishbones, a set of stock spoke wheels. I have to get the frame blasted & coated with some Ch***is Saver Satin black.

Looks like one of the guys got me some front fenders in NY so we are on the way again.

So I have a extra frame that is bobbed in the front if anyone needs it.

 

Man I am confused enuff I found a frame & whish bone front end, thanks for the input tho.
