I spent the afternoon with Beaver Bob going over stuff for the Drags and have come up with a slightly modified game plan with help from opinions from several HAMBers and a bit from Ryan's drag show. Gates will open at 9, maybe earlier if things start to back up. Drivers meeting around 10 and then we will run completely open for a couple hours. Run against whoever you want as much as you want. The exhibition cl*** will get called up through that if they want to run 1/4 mile. The East Coast G***ers will run their program throughout the day. Around lunch we will do the kids foot races & the hot dog races. Then we will run by our four cl***es (flathead/4/6 cyl, small block, big block, exhibition 1/4 mile) in the afternoon WITH NO ELIMINATIONS. Then when it looks like everyone is wearing out, we will call one last round and the guy with the fastest & runner up time for that round will win for the day. I think this is a great no pressure, easy and fun day for us to run the hell out of our cars non-stop! We'll see everyone in a couple of weeks.
After talking with alot of the people racing last year they will be very pleased to hear about heads up fun run drag racing. No eliminations and both cars taking off at the same time just means all day fun. I wonder how many guys are going to want to take on Moyer with his Rebel Reaper?
Haven't come up on the night before yet. Anything going on? OK to sleep in the rod and know for sure I'll make the drivers meeting? See ya all there.......................
Friday night the track runs test and tune and was $10 to get in. We show up on Friday night and set up in the swapmeet and yes there is plenty of room for camping.
BTW swap spots are the same as the Showdown at Latimore $40 They are just bigger and easier to get to!
thats really not a fair race sir. mine weights a fair amount less than yours. I mean yours has a motor and trans a frame and .............
Larry, this sounds like a Great Plan. Just when you think this show couldn't get any better....the open Grudge/Match racing at the end of the day was always a blast for us. I'll be beating it up with the EC G***ers and we'll be making some fun p***es with the 55 panel too. Can't wait !!! See ya there, Pat & Kim
I am already loaded! Blue By You will be there also, faster than me...Littleman's motor fired on the dyno this week, so maybe he will finally get back out on the track, that truck is going to be sick......I think my buddy Squirrel will have his a coupe on its maiden voyage too...so maybe 4 Slick Devils this year!
John will be there with his Camaro, right buddy?
thats my plan...
did ya cut a mullet yet?
We will be there friday nite camping out.We just love the show and I will be running with the east coast g***ers and I hope I get a chance to run Don Moyers Rebel Reaper after the show. See you all there.
Looking forward to another great scarry larry showdown...... I checked the weather and looks like its gonna be better than last year, and last year was great weather. think i'll practice a "john force" burnout today and start getting ready.
First time coming with the old man... never been to larry's drags but i know that they are killer... and.. DOES ANYONE ATTENDING HAVE A VINTAGE TRUCK/CAR WITH A PUSHBOARD? if you would like to volunteer it for push starting our dragster, thatd be KILLER... pm me! if not we got the late model shop truck for the duty...
