It is hard to believe cars of that vintage are still hanging around out there, especially as nice and complete as that one is. I wonder when it was last worked on, or driven last, and what reason they had to park it.

  12. Won't fit on a 27, as least not without a bunch of work

  13. WOW! It`s all there.I bet the restoration guys at the M.T.F.C.A.would pay a pretty penny for that.
I would have to hotrod it.
    Great find!

Wow, that is neat for nearly a hundred years old.I wouldn't do a thing to it except clean it with a brillo pad and build a room for it on my garage.

Looks like its rust free too. I've heard so much about the funky pedal setup on stock Model Ts, One day i've gotta drive one.

Yes...the rust was free. The sheetmetal is pretty good...minus a few bullet holes in the quarter panels...and some cracks around the edges.

T's are a different breed to drive. Like some say, forget everything you know about driving a "modern" car...then they are pretty simple.

    Here's a little how to...

OK here's the story. My 11 year son and I were on our way home from visiting a friends collection (Casper here on the HAMB). Anyway my son says...dad...there is enough stuff out behind your shop to make a car like Kenny had. So as soon as we got home he dug out this pile...

within an hour or so, we had the pile mocked up into this...

After dinner we had this pile gathered up...

But we really needed a better left side panel...

so we stashed it away till we found more parts...

Then we found this complete T ch***is...

So that got things rolling again. A stock T is pretty simple to bolt together, so I'd gather up parts and let my son bolt them together...

We located a better front half of the LHS panel from the MTFCA cl***ifieds...

    and ended up with this...

It was a challenge to find all matching "rust/patina" to make it appear as a whole car, rather than a pieced together pile of parts. I did actually do some trading, as some of the parts I had looked to good...and others weren't good enough. A few did have to be artificially enhanced to fit in.

So, no, it's not the barn find that it appears, but it was a fun father and son project...and it made that pile of junk I had actually worth something.

We are gonna take it to a local swapmeet this weekend and see if there is any interest. If there are no takers, I will round up a T engine and make it a runner. It actually came out better than I expected that old pile of parts to turn out...so it wouldn't hurt my feelings if we ended up keeping it.

Neat story. I'd round up that T engine and tell your son it's his and see what he can do before he turns 16. Looks like he'd enjoy that.

Thats an even better story than a barn find, best part is that your son helped. My 11 year old son is wanting to build his own car now, makes me feel like i've done something right!

Looks cool Neal, it should go on display at the Jack Dewar museum.
