its very cool I just don't have a spare $20,000

  5. Is it a nicer car, or patched up for resale? How's it underneath? Or did you get that far? Is it straight? How's the paint/trim/fit and finish? Thank you

  6. That does look nice! Groucho, I'm going to go take a look at it anyways. I'll snap some more pictures. I'll be back in a bit.

  7. Just looked up the address. Not to far away. I'll be back

I did not get under it or lift the hood but looked like a complete restoration job to me including paint and new interior. Its a bank repo so i think the owner drop serious money to fix it up then could not pay the loan

  9. okay just got back. I'd pass on it. It's a spray bomb rebuild. It does have a decent paint job and interior. It looks nice up until it is closely examined. It was probably a nice straight fairly rust free original car before it was painted. It has a few condition issues in regards to the paint and trim. They were probably pulled when it was painted. But it has a few fitment issues in areas. it has a couple dings that were missed and some pitting that was painted over in a some what hidden spot. The Interior is nice, but has issues as well....like the cover of one of the armrest is coming undone. It definitely has not had a full resto. the underside is dirty and not rebuilt or reconditioned. Looks like the trans or rear main leaks. It had rust cut out and a floor pan laid over the original on the drivers side. You can see the seams aren't even sealed from the bottom.

  10. Thanks Boss. VERY much appreciated. Man, that was quick service, too;). If anyone else is close, a second look might be cool. I'm not second guessing Hitchhiker's evaluation....I just want as much info as possible before calling them back to possibly negotiate. Thanks again Hitchhiker. That was very cool

  12. I know, huh? Pretty fucking cool

  13. I saw that for sale on the Local Craiglist's in Seattle. Ok car , not worth $20,000 for sure.

  14. No worries man! glad I could help. Anyone else wanna take a look? The more opinions the better.

It's definitely a car worth saving, Just that a few repairs were shady....It would have been a nice car to do right if you got to it before the spray job....Which actually did look like a decent paint job.

here go the pictures. Sorry. they aren't the best. They just show the condition issues I saw.

I know it's a bad picture. But take a look at the front of the arm rest. See how it's coming apart.

I would say it is a 5k to 8 K car tops.It looks like a 50 50 car, fifty feet or 50 miles per hour she looks great. Due to the recession these cars are being sold cheep these days. The Mecum auto auction is selling nice rebuilt cars for less than half what the owners invested in them.Sad but true.

  16. I'd call it a five to ten footer....but we're basically talking the same thing. I probably wouldn't go over 10k on it. I think If you pulled the interior and fixed the floor pan right. took care of a couple issues with the paint and trim and cleaned up the motor and trans, nothing crazy. you would have a real nice car. I didn't find any major bondo in the bottom covering rust. which I've seen on these before.

BTW Groucho if you are serious about this car, I can get it on a lift for you and take some more pictures with a better camera. It will just take a little more planning than today.

this post rocks. I like how you took the picture we would want to see.The problems! If I ever think on buying a car state side. this is where I`ll come first.

  18. Yes, I'm pretty serious. I've been looking for one of these for about 5 years. If it's not a total "piece", I might go for it. I'm negotiating the price, and that parts going pretty well. Maybe that in itself is a red flag. LOL

I'm impressed.....you guys are GOLD! What a great thing to do for a fellow hotrodder. Big thumbs up!!

  24. Well. If you want me to go back for a second look and get more pictures.... you know where to find me.

I am serious about the lift offer too. I can get this thing extra checked out for you if need be. Just let me know. I'd hate for it to turn out to be a lemon. I don't think it's a piece.....I just would have preferred to buy it before it was painted. Good luck with the negotiations.

Those turn signal bezels that don't fit right are probably repops. they (the repop's) don't fit worth a crap.
