    Ammeter, you can tell by the shunt on the back. Cool vintage instrument.

  4. I go with ammeter. It is obviously from the 6 volt era. You might see 16 amps charge but you would not see 16 volts unless something was very wrong.

  5. It's an ammeter, but I have no idea as to what it might have come off of. Perhaps some kind of industrial equipment? I've never seen a switch on an ammeter so I've got no idea why yours has one.

    What is it off of? No, clue.
