I know I have an addiction, and I know I'm not alone. Somehow I end up with a mul***ude of cars and all in various states of rust, lol. seriosly, I have a '47 Merc. 114, Canadian 4dr.,a 1951 GMC 1/2t.(I'm the second owner!) a 63 Acadian Convert and a 65 Canso. The Merc is my rod, presently it sits on altered, stock rails. Altered, I took out the X-member,cut the centre out ,turned the rails in and boxed the frame. Then I grafted a Toyota 2whldr. front clip(torsion bar susp., disc brakes, ford bolt pattern. Installed between the rails is a '79 ranchero's GT 390 engine and the C-6 trans.,I made the engine and trans mounts,it just fits and you can still fit the tall oil filtre on the engine. The driveshaft is front half Ford and the yolk is Toyota, I used a 8 3/4 toyo rear, as strong as a 9" ford, but already narrow enough to fit and can take up to a 12 rim with no body mods. I boxed the rear of the frame and added 1/4 X 4X2 box rails for cross-member supports and gas tank support. Presently it sits higher on the rear so I will have to put in some lowering blocks, the front sits at the perfect height , the stock rad fits in the Toyo frame and I can close the hood with 1/2" above the rad cap. I used the Toyo gas tank, I didn't have the stock one and the p/up one fit nicely and the filler neck lined up. Presently I am rebuilding the sills, the car had none, the rest of the body is good , but it had no floors or sill to speak of. A lot of people say they wouldn't attempt this, but I can see the finished project ! I will try and get some pics posted of my frame etc. as it goes. this isn't my first Rod, the first one my father owns, it has garnered a 'people's choice award at the local car shows, it's a '48 Chevy p/up, he's on here too as Z-48 , check it out .

dont mind some of the old members, they act like the old bus cops most of the time. first to criticize, last to compliment. thats how they became senior members and above, lots of posts, little work. no offense meant too alot of you, this is directed at the few that have nothing better to do but make new members suffer any chance they can.

  8. What is the point of digging up a 6 month old post? Did one of the senior members hurt your feelings when you intro'd? As Rodney asked, "can't we all just get along"? I would, respectively, suggest that you read the "sticky" and then get over it!

i just happened to be reading it and put in my opinion, sorry it bothered you, but the truth can be a hurtful thing sometimes. and yes, the posts i read from other new members, and some of my own have been slammed by people that have nothing better to do. i tryed to word it as nice as i could, but i guess that wasnt good enough. sorry
