Alright,I noticed a triple off intake that says it will fit my poly. Has anyone done this, was there any significant power gain, is it a worthwhile upgrade?

do you mean you want the single carb manifold or a
    Triple manifold?

Anyone have info or input on whether a triple carb will help performance wise over a single on my 270?

I have no idea, but will say that back then the reason we went with more carb's was because the stock cfm size of whatever carb that was on whatever engine was to increase cfm!

It was like the latter '50's when Ford brought out their 4-barrel Autolite and Chevy was running the old WCFB 4-barrel jobber.

It was a god send when Holley brought out their old 3310-1, 780 cfm "dogleg" jobber!

There were very few stock 2x4 setups out because most manufacturer's went with trips on their so-called "Hi-Po" engines instead.

J-2 Olds, '50's and '60's big Pontiac's, Chevy 348 "W"s, 390 and 406 Ford's all had trips on them at one time or the other.
