I did a search and didn't find the model thread, so I guess I'll start This is a 32 RPU I did 30 years ago. After seeing the work from some of the modelers on here, I've got the bug to maybe update this one... to a hot rodded version. I saw a great example at the Salina Kansas show this year truly timeless. I always wanted to add more detail to this conversion anyway.
I'll toss in for a change. I did this one a couple of years ago after 40 plus years of not playing. MiHosted on Fotkike Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
This is my first time doing any sort of scratch building, its fun and ill do it again here is what I did Fender skirts are sheet styrene, bedcover is grooved sheet styrene, visor is from the front of the trailer from the silhouette model cut up and formed, I used solder for the exhaust , I frenched the antennas using metal tubes and push pins for antennas, frenched the taillights and used 1960 chevy taillights.metal tubes for the air filters and I also lowered it. cheers mat
Would that be an AMT model. I did one 35 to 40 yrs back when the t.v. series Movin On was airing. I painted mine green like the one on the program.
Thanks! I started with the custom taillights found in the AMT 58 Chevy kit. Then built fins around them from styrene.
Lots of great scratch building going on today. Keep sharing ideas and build tips, everyone benefits. Dig the frenched antennas.
Some new faces and contributions this week. Cool stuff. Been away from the workbench for a coupla weeks so nothing new to show, so I thought I bring one out from the archives. This was completed about 6 months ago.
Great Merc, dig the ripple bar bumpers. Really like Thames Panel trucks. I've only seen one up close in Montana. It was an old drag car that had been severely butchered.
