My Dad had a louver press he bought in 1958. It was a hand pump model that he carried all over this country doing hoods along with pinstriping. I had it for a while when I had my shop in the 80's. Too much time and effort. He still had it when he passed away in '05, I think one of my bros has it now. Here's my 92 Buick sedan delivery. Did it at a friends shop outside of San Antonio. Still lot's of time and effort doing one. If you need louvers, he can punch 'em for ya. Mikey did it www.mikeyspinstriping.com "does bad things to good cars"
Me and younger bro on Dad's 36 Chevy Pu 1960. He did the louvers and striping too. Mikey www.mikeyspinstriping.com new book coming soon... "VROOM! The Car guys Guide to Success in Life and Business" It ain't just about the cars.
I did a '28 or '29 hood this week in 2 1/2" louvers for one customer, then the next day another with a '29 showed up with some hood sides that he wanted matched to what I punched a couple of years ago, 2 1/2" also. Cool thing about both of these is that when viewed from the side, the hood and side panels both line up. Then to cap the week, I had another client bring in a hood for a '30 Roadster pickup, wanting - you guessed it, my 2 1/2" louvers! I thought I might as well get my insert panel done for my roadster pick up done as well. couldn't have planned that better if I tried!
Well Skrapmetal, my press is in my tiny shop and isn't very photogenic, but if I must... How about some picts of yours?
