Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Carps, Sep 12, 2010.

  1. Carps, great way to start sunday models and great to see more of your awesome 32. good to see some of the others and some non build off cars too.
heres my pile. i had an ich to build another boat tail but with a twist and so with the possiblity that it wouldnt be hamb friendly, i grabbed an old 32 kit and built my crazy vision.
this is how it started after the paint stripping.

  2. Mate its a lot of work. The chops are done the same as on a real car, there just smaller but the same shapes so any 'how to' would be a good guide.
Most models you see here are built from a standard kit you can get in any toy shop, lots of work and some use aftermarket detail parts that are available from the net.
Check out both of these places,
    The HAMBs modelers page,
    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/g...hp?groupid=105
and the BEST model site off the HAMB,
    http://www.scalemotorcars.com/

Ask questions on either and you will get guys falling over each other to help. If you want anything specific you can e-mail me and I will explain what I can or direct you to someone that can help.
    Cheers,
    Doc.

PS does anyone have a 54 Vette windscreen and hard top?? I need......well......would like them, swap or sell.

First off, thanks! It was a close race (not really haha).

The turbonique was a combonation of several parts. . .
1)Quick-Change Rear center-section off of the Tony-Nancy Roadster
    2)AMT Parts Pack 327 bellhousing
    3)AMT lowrider wire wheel (1)
    4)Shell casing from a .22 rifle

and like that! You have your very own Turbonique drag axle!

  13. Incredible stuff as always and there's enuff chopped deuces here to have got me to now have a revellogram deuce Tudor on the bench.

What am I gunna do with it, God only knows so far but all the chopped tops make that part a given and the Coffin has added some more ideas to the voices in my head.

Here was my entry for the Hemi Build off.
Just givin a little post on the build.
Started as a AMT 40 Willys coupe.
The Frame was a Coupe ch***is narrowed for the bigger tires and turning front suspension.
Engine is a parts box Hemi that has been fully wired ,plumbed and throttle cables added . Fuel cell, battery box, fuel pump and filter system all scratch built from styrene or modified parts..
Body is lowered over ch***is by means of sectioning interior box .
Scratch built firewall and hood hinge from styrene.
Color is Candy Blue over Tomato red to give it the purple hugh.
Enjoy the pics and thanks to all who voted in the build off.

    Scrubba!
Why did you build it reversed? What's left in the pic is now right in your model.
