Procrastination has finally come to an end. I'm going to start the chop on my 50 chevy fleetline on Sunday. I got a couple of guys from my car club (Rod Barons) coming over along with some other friends. I feel like i've looked a three million threads on chopping tops. I finally found my inspiration thread. The chop by Stickylifter was by far the best in my opinion and I'm going to try to chop mine that way. Wish me luck!! I'm going to post as many pics as possible.

Good Luck!!! Hopefully all the people there to help will have the knowledge and tricks to a good chop job. Experience here is priceless... so many curves and angles... I can't wait to see it! I'm subscribing to your thread.

    Later,

O/T 99 Mercury Sable Tail lights turned upright. The rear fenders were reshaped to match the curve of the tail lights

  14. Give Cooter the torch, stand back, and let him at it!!!! Keep us posted. Hope all goes well. A little off the top is one of, if not thee, most drastic changes you can do to a custom.

Need some more pics of the backend after you cut and sat it back on. You made it look too easy....

I looked at the HAMB chop thread you posted earlier. It turned out really cool and you cut looks like the same cuts. Working that valley between the rear fender and the sail panel down along the trunk opening is going to be a bitch. We did our chop differently on our fleetline and we spent a huge amount of time trying to get that valley right or at least looking right.
what are your plans for the shape of that valley?

  21. I didn't see any braces?!

Brace the body up or bad things can happen.
    (speaking from experiance)

    Good luck:D

The back glass wasn't cut. Basically the the entire roof along with the trunk was lowered. I did took out 3.5 inches from the b-post.

I am going to get back on it tomorrow and will post some more pics for you guys. It kept giving me errors when I tried to post them.

hrm2k...You are exactly right. The back is where most of the work is. Finishing the a-post and b-post went suprisingly easy. I plan to basically continue the curve of the rear fender to the truck. I will probably spend a few days staring at this part before I start.
