    just added some more questions
i know somebody here is an expert on this
lead me in the right direction

  5. I have a 3x2 Rochester carbs. with progressive linkage on an Offy manifold on my 350 Chevy. I have and was highly recommended by the tri power guru that set my carbs up to use the electric choke on the primary (middle) carb to ease cold starts.I use a twin point Malloy dist. with 8-8 Ht leads. I will check my photo album to see if I have a photo of the carb setup. I don't know what jet sizes etc he installed in my carbs so sorry can't help there. I get excellent fuel economy if I drive only on the primary carb. which for around town is really easy but out on the open highway, well I will just say it is a different story.:) Sorry will have to go out to the garage with the camera and take some photos for you.

Here is my SBC set up . it makes it sing
I would get a standard linkage w/ adjustable secondary positions . I do not use the choke as this is a fair weather car ..but a pull type is what I like best and will be what I install

If you afford it, get some new outer bases from Vintage Speed in Florida, Charlie's a heck of a nice guy to talk with and give you advice. I bought the longer shafts, thicker ****erflys, plugs, etc. from him. Of course you know, the outside carbs have no idle or vacuum circuts. You can't have any air leaking in around the shafts or ****erflys on the outside, really plays havoc with trying to adjust idle, etc. I have a mild sbc 383, running 57 jets in the center, 55's outside, per Charlies advice. Give him a call or look him up on the net--

I just sent my carbs in to Vintage Speed Aka Charlie Price so he can clean them up and plate them for me. He called me up right away to tell me he recieved the package and will down with them tomorrow. Great guy, lots of knowledge...check his site out has everything you need!!!....also got the base kit from him as well, he has a ebay store as well, you can get lucky sometimes and get his kits there below his website prices.....
