I've got a set of Wide 5's I was thinking of running on my fenderless A Tudor. Anyone got pics of hot rod A's with Wide 5's? I was thinking of running Firestone Dirt Track tires.

Love wide fives on Hot Rods!!! I even really enjoy when they are mismatched with steelies up front and the Wide Fives out back. I know it's not an A but it's on it's way to becoming a hot rod so I'll include it. The front are 3.5" wide V8-60's and the rear are normal 4" wide fives all powder coated black. The Caps are 39 Standard I believe. Tire's are 5.50's and 7.50's.

From ebay a couple years back.

I like the look on A's

Dirt track tires are too wide for these wheels?..without widening the wheel from the back side? I never looked at any other sizes of dirt tires, but saw some that looked too wide once.

My roadster -- this car will be getting 40 Ford steelies and the wide 5's will be going on my A Tudor pictured below.

Can someone photoshop the wide 5's onto my A Tudor above? Anyone know if 8.90-16 Firestone Dirt Trackers will fit on wide 5's?

  13. The "traditional " way to do that would be to take the four wide five wheels of your roadster , jack up the tudor, take the wheels of the tudor and mock it up with the wide fives. Usually done on a sunny day. :D

Sweet car! I saw it at Marcus Dairy and Southbury. Sorry about the drool all over it. :D

  16. oh damn! now thats awesome! i like the caps on and being the same color as the wheel with the trim rings, i never cared much for the wide 5 look when the wheels dont match the caps. thats a killer t right there.

  17. this is my all time favorite so far. but i think he switched to wires. to my dismay.

  20. No pix yet, I'm putting wide 5's on my 30' Chrysler coupe. Just found some 18" rims that will go out back and the 16" in front

Since the car is out of commission and being rebuilt after a head-on crash this isn't an option at the moment. Being that they're wide 5's also necessitates swapping front drums as well . . . FYI. ;)

Thanks! Now . . . do I paint them black with black hubcaps? Or red with the black hubcaps?

I generally don't like the caps and the wheels to be a different color.

Here is a pic of HotRodVon's *****in '32 with '36 spider caps.

Wide 5s made this wagon look 10x better.

Removal of the wagon made the Wide 5s look 20x better;)
