1947 Stylemaster VIN locations

Hey Guys.

I know there are several threads about this topic. Been searching them for a couple of days. I need to find out if there are any other locations for the vin number on my Stylemaster sedan. All of the threads state that there is a tag that is screwed into the p*** A pillar. Mine is missing. Some threads have suggested that there is a number stamped into the frame, while others suggest that the number is only on the frame after 1955??

Here is the real question. Has anyone found a VIN number stamped on the frame of a 1947 Sedan?

I'm wanting to get the ***le process strated.

I dont think there are any numbers on the frame. Although my 47 SD is sub framed but I recently purchased a 48 2 dr sedan for parts. I could not find any numbers on either frame. The parts manuals also do not refer to any numbers being on the frame/ch***is for 46-48 chev cars. I think earlier cars had a tag on the floor where the front p***engers feet go and I have read about people with tags on the drivers side door pillar - but I am sure you would have noticed that!

Yup. Moved the front seat all over last night and didn't see anything on the floor. Not sure what the next step is now??
