Need Some 1936 Ford Coupe Advice

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Arrowood Rod & Kustom, Sep 21, 2010.

  1. I sold my '50 Mercury and now I'm looking for my next project, I found this 1936 Ford 5 Window Coupe that's about 40 minutes from my house it's sitting on an s-10 frame but has a bare '35-'40 Ford frame that comes with it..comes with a non numbers matching ***le...the guy was asking $5,500 but says he'll go $4,000 for it, is this a good price for one of these coupes or is he way off? any input/advice would be greatly appreciated

    thanks guys

Snag it quick. Looks to be in real decent condition, and you're not going to do better on the price ($4,000) for one of these.

  3. yeah that's what I thought but couldn't really find any others for sale to compare it too, only thing I'm wondering about is how does the ***le work can I use a non numbers matching ***le? and anyone know if an s10 frame would even work under one of these cars?

Buy it! I bought mine for around the same price, and it's horrible compared to that one. Mine only came with a bill of sale. So, did I mention to buy it?!

Look at how the engine is practically sitting in the drivers lap and the location of the front wheels. I think that answers your question.

On the positive side, it doesn't look like the floor was butchered too much to put an original frame back under it.

Price wise, I'd say 4K is decent. Not a steal but not too much. Get it if it's what you want and if you have the skills to bring it back.

You said the original frame is there, right? If it's solid, use it.

  10. for 4 gs sounds like a descent deal to me.... i got mine for a little under that, and mine has no grille nor a ***le....

  11. thanks for the help guys, didn't want to buy it and then be screwed and have wasted a good chunk of change..I haven't seen the stock frame yet but hopefully it's good and I can just install a Mustang II up front
