I want to remove the gas tank from under the cowl of a '29 fordor.I removed all the bolts at the firewall split and the side brackets. It won't wiggle or move. I don't want to trash the cowl but I need the tank........anyone with experience or ideas?

Sounds like your just about there. You'll have to remove the upper dash plate and unbolt the tie bar that goes across the bottom of the windshield frame. There will be a screw at each end into the "A" pillar and 6 bolts underneath going up into the bar. Then you can remove the tiebar and then the tank. you may have to go around the edge of the tank with a knife or hacksaw blade to free the old beading from the tank and the cowl panels.

    Hope this helps:
