    Scott,

So what year do you think he sold it? Do you think he would have he just listed in the local cl***ifieds? If so what would the local paper have been? (The Pittsburg Herald:D) It would be cool to see the original ad to see if it lists any additional details about the car.

Wow, Scott's mom seems pretty sharp. What a great read.

Cecil said that he has a Hot Rod Magazine from the 60s that listed it for sale. I'd like to see that advert as well. I think the paper for Pittsburg is the Contra Costa Times. My guess is that he sold it soon after creating it, because my Mom never saw it, and they started dating in high school.

Best part of that movie was in the picnic ground when the driver of that 59 Olds wagon tells Dana Andrews: GAS UP THE CAR, GAS UP THE DRIVER!

I believe @Cecil was referring to the Gary Heliker car that appeared in the "Hot Rods to Hell" movie ... not your father's car:

To alleviate some of the confusion , you might consider changing the ***le of this thread (in the OP) to something like: "Was my car a former movie star? ... NO ... New Info & Pics Found!" :)

1952? The original magazine article said he had worked on it for 4 years and entered it in shows in 1958.... Hard to imagine its a different car since it is so unique. Noticed fenders on this photo and the show board appears to have the last name Lopez on it.... Plot officially thickened!

back on page 2 of this thread the pages from the book ROD BUILDER & CUSTOMIZER Jan 1959 mention 'Mike Lopez as Ray's mate mechanic who helped him build.

JIMMY B...... whats the confirmation on the date 1952?
