TALL ORDER chop just arrived at my shop.....

  1. Today I got started on my newest inshop job-[A chopped top] on this 1941 Chevy CabOver truck.
It belongs to a fellow from Gulf Shores Alabama and was recently purchased by him in Arizona as a fully restored rust free vehicle.
It is being built as a custom Motorcycle carrier/driver on a custom frame.
He has big plans for this and will be looselybased/resembling a concept drawing by Darrly Mayabb-black with a stiff chop and white yellow orange fade flames.

My job is to unassemble the cab interior and chop the top 6"....[maybe more!]to resemble [the drawing / Darryl's concept].
it seems hard to tear into a decent looking vehicle like this-when usually rust is the rule here, but I suppose I have to work too!
Ill snap som pics later as I cut on it -at this stage Im just planning my attack!:)

Hate to rain on your parade...and maybe you, nor your customer knows, but the owner of Painter's Supply (automotive refinish supplier) here in Denver actually had that truk built...several years ago. Darrel designed the truk for him and it actually got painted that way...

Maybe you shouldn't tell your customer...
