  2. Thanks for the pics!

  3. Thanks for the photo's, I collect Service Station photo's, but only of my home town. At one time there seemed to be 2 to 3 stations per intersection. I still remember walking by a station every day that used a pit to service cars, and directly north of it was a station that had ramps that you drove up on to service the cars, and to the west corner of the intersection there was a Lift being used. As I remember the manager was just a tad bit snooty, as if he was just a couple of steps higher than the other two. PROGRESS !

    Hi terry48435,
GREAT photos..Thanks for sharing!.. Any thoughts on where the #7 photo might have been taken.. Tank car serves as supply tank... Depot is up in the rear of photo.. Curious if depot still exists... Super old photos overall. Shows real Americana!...duane

    awesome-thanks for those pics!

LIL-timmy, have you seen the one over in gladstone, it's sort of near the Harley store on a little neighborhood road? looks very similar to the one you posted. it's fully setup with old pumps, tire display, old chevy truck, etc. looks like it's a working station from the 50's. not sure what it really is though, never see anything going on there.?

Those are some of the best I've seen in awhile.

What do you suppose the contraption in the first on is? Looks like an old truck frame with a belt on the right wheel running up towards the front.

Obviously it's to get the car off the ground to work on, but maybe it's some sort of winch mechanism to pull the car up?
