Hey all...FNG here... anyway, I have a 1962 caddy with a 1964 caddy 429 engine. I've finished up some mods including a new edelbrock carb, pertronix ignition and top end gaskets (minus heads) and I can't for the life of me get the car to run correctly. Timing is perfect, sounds and feels really really good and strong, but when driving it doesn't have the pep it used to and I'm getting hesitation under 1/2 to full throttle. I've given up diagnosing it myself and am looking for recommendations for a good mechanic in town who might be familiar with older caddys...or someone who does this sort of thing on the side for some bucks. Just some info on what I've done... intake, valve cover, velley pan, water outlet, carb gaskets replaced new edelbrock 1411 750cfm carb with elec. choke pertronix ignitor ignition system(replaces points) with new coil, cap and rotor, vacuum advance 8mm braided spark plug wires and new plugs any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated bryan ps. I have talked to a guy at Armadillo auto who knows these old caddys...that's all I have to work with.
