Bought what I was told are 6" over forks for my yamaha chop, came in and they are stockers. Now the guy's claiming he had no way of nowing what stock was, and someone wrote 6" on the paper wrapped around them, so now it's on me. $50 + shipping for something I already have. Here's the auction--

So what can I do now besides leave bad feedback? Andone here in Jesup, IA ?

Some people think I'm nuts...but I freakin hate Ebay. I refuse to deal with it. I'll contact people direct if I really want something and if it's high enough dollar use an escrow service like www.escrow.com.

You should be able to send it back, get your money back and at the least...split shipping. Guy is full of shit. Scammer.

Ebay has a far trade department, complain to them and they may be able to get your money back.

He had no way of knowing what stock was but he sure had a way of claiming they were 6" over and they werent. Contact E-Bay about the miss represented item. Now you know why he won't take paypal, credit cards or anything else that you can stop payment on.

If you paid by Paypal you can file a dispute complaint with Paypal. If you paid by money order you can file a dispute complaint directly with Ebay. I have done this recently and the buyer refunded my money.

Well, he refuses to do anything.
This is his excuse--"I have purchased a lot of old NOS parts from a dealer and will be listing them over the next few months. I received them some with & with out exact years or models labled on them. Please ask for more details or pictures if you can not identify them to fit your bike. I will try to answer them the best I can. "
Of course, if you read the listing it sounds like he knows what it's for. No where does it say "it may fit" or I'm not sure... etc. What an ass.

Thats why I say FUCK ebay.

  10. James I hate to hear you had that happen,But I have a tip for anyone who is buying and or selling on EBAY......
ASK detailed questions first -THEN dont bid unless you get PROOF of your expected answer.

This has almost happened to me and simply asking them to hold a tape measre up to the parts and snappin a pic for email to me solved the doubt permanently......
lesson is-don't ASSUME and you will then KNOW.

He has to do something . . . he told you they were one thing and they weren't . Go through ebay's fraud channels . Have you tried just calling him and explaining that he sent you something that wasn't what he described ? If all else fails mix it up with ebay , the squeeky wheel & all that .

and how long they were before you bought them ?

ebay will not do anything about it.and even if you used pay pal they would take a $25. cut for the hassle of collecting it.I've been through this 3 times with out any help from ebay the way they should.post his email address and maybe we can give him enough of a guilt trip he will send you your cash back!?.can't speak for anyone one else but I will email him.these pain in the ass guys that do this piss me off more than someone sucker punching me in the face.cons that hide in another state thinking they can't be reached.i bought a shift kit from 1 guy that wouldn't send it.3 months later ,only after I told him I would be driving the 4 hour drive just to beat his ass , he said he would drop it off at the post office.almost wish he wouldn't have sent it

I have been burned before and there is no resolution from EBAY. The best you can do is give a negative but be very specific the space is way too limited. I am one of those people that only buy from a perfect 100% seller but thats no guarantee. I do a lot of repeat buying from sellers I have dealt with before. I bought from a HAMB member and he gave me the H.A.M.B. site so everything from ebay isn't bad.

Hey, now...I have 100% feedback rating, I always ship on time and send polite follow up e-mails, leave feedback always...

But I hate PayPal (and their fees) and have no other way of accepting CC's. I do money orders or cash only, so now I'm a bad guy?!?!?!?

Have you tried starting a new thread on a traditional hot rod and custom website complaining about it? That might help

    thanks,

Thanks zman. With almost 5,000 people on this board, we have probably spent millions on ebay, so I'd said this is pretty on topic. And goolagong, I've been here for four years or so and was looking for advice from some friends, if you don't like it, don't let the door hit you in the ass.

I've been screwed once....it happens. FWIW, I don't accept paypal or credit cards....and I have 100% rating. All paypal does is protect the buyer...sellers need protection too. I rely on Bidpay...backed by Western Union. James....good luck, but if anything is done, it will have to be by you buggin the shit outta the guy.

What really sucks is if I leave negative feedback, he'll probably turn around and give me bad feedback, which is usally what happens. I've allready tried the ebay dispute and he basically told me to f-off. Maybe if I somehow posted his email all over the place ....(ledsldracing@jtt.net)........but I would never do that. Oooops, I can't seem to find the delete key, o well. :)

If you really want to screw with the guy, open another ebay account and use it to just bad bid him, and ruin his auctions. I have never done this , but it will work.

This was my point exactly. I think you may have misunderstood.
zman has been here a long time, so I don't think he's leaving.

    Thanks,

    Paul

I'd love to do that, but don't you have to use your credit card to open an account? I use my account quite a bit and don't want to risk it.

    just an email address.

What city is he from? Maybe someone that's on the H.A.M.B. lives in his city and can go over to his place and straighten things out.

You can open an account w/out a card. but if you really want to be safe, you will need to set it up from a different I.P address. Im not to sure how you do this but I can ask a friend that knows if you want.
