Bob's Big Boy worth the effort?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 210ken, Sep 23, 2010.

  1. Coming into LA from Detroit via Las Vegas Friday afternoon. I'd like to swing by Bob's BigBoy and check out the cruise action. Any tips on do's and don'ts getting there, traffic, parking, the man,...? Is it even worth doing? Advise please.

    Thanks,

    Ken

That Bob's seems to have an endless supply of customers. I arrived at 3:30 pm and had to wait for a parking space. In the past, some people have dropped off their rods in the morning and come back in the afternoon. When I went, half the cars in the parking lot were daily drivers. More rods arrive as the sun goes down though. The wait to eat at dinner time was so long, I just walked across the street for chow. If you've never been there, I highly recommend it, just to say you did it.

I would say no to that. Motorama is why. But back to matters, yes it's worth it.

We aretaling Bob is in Burbank right?... Its definitely worth it.. Go to my friends bar about 2 blocks away, Lucy's 51.. Great food, and awesome crowd. Celebrities if thats your thing are always walking in and out with Warner Bros in the neighborhood.. Its become very muscle car-ish, but you do get some great cars.. I don't know where you are staying, but the best way to get there is 101 North of Downtown, exit Vineland, go up 2 bloks to Riverside, and go about 2 miles and it will be on your left...

been there plenty of times. Great area for cruising around. Get used to the traffic. But its worth it, cool cars, friendly people, and bomb food. Just get there early to find a parking spot.

The forecast is for 88 tomorrow, that makes for a great turnout. Don't forget to get a bit to eat, then walk around some more to work off the heartburn. Then get a Starbucks, and have car nightmares.

Bobs in Downey was off the hook when I went. Nice mix of Bomb style rides built lowrider and custom. Didnt see any drama, it was a good crowd and the food was great. And it was packed.

  20. My son got married to girl from Santa Clara last year and I had a list of ta'do's...Bob's in Burbank was first Friday night. My wife, our daughter and her hubby went too and we had a ball. Go to the Auto Bookstore in Burbank too. Can't wait to go back.

That last pic was at the Greek cafe on way to Vegas. We shoulda stayed in LA.
