Mac users... We have been working on fixing the problems reported earlier with browser compatability and what not and think we got her fixed... If you have a mac and you are still having problems, could you please list them here along with a screen shot (if you can) and what browser version and OS you are using. Thanks!
ryan i use a mac but have not had any problems .just still a bit lost on navigating the new board. but then again i am a tard when it comes to anything computer related...we have os 10 and use netscape ....hope this gives a bit of info
How we supposed to know? I obviously have something coming here that looks like the HAMB but well what's the problem look like if it is probleming? All the text looks foggy-gray... is that a problem or just my eyes going mor blind?
I'm not having any probs ... except with IE 5.2 does strange things to the width - seems to run width wise to 99% ie. to full browser width, and then some see attached... Left, Centre, and RHS With Safari, mozilla and firefox, all works AOK (i'm presuming). All this is on OSX 10.3.5
I've noticed when i select the "view all" button at the bottom right side of the screen i get this error : "No Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the webmaster" L
In safari, the images in the masthead doesn't line up. In explorer it used to look as in TikEK's example, it's now a bit better but still too wide. Firefox is perfect. I'm using the newest updates of OS and app versions. Otherwise, I just love the way the new HAMB looks!
I'm using a Mac with OS 9.0.4 and Netscape 7.02. The only problem I'm currently experiencing is a formatting problem with the right margin of certain threads. An example is the current thread "Tech: How to Create a Beautiful...1950s Engine Compartment". When I open it, the right margin of the page has the same line defining it as other threads do, but the text and pictures spill over it and reache nearly to the right edge of the screen. Other threads (don't have a current example) spill over and off the edge of the screen, so I must scroll right and left to read the whole thing. Still others -- and the great majority -- fit within the margins and behave themselves. Mildly annoying, but trivial. I love the HAMB.
I'm on a vintage Mac----8.6 with Navigator 7.0 Only problem is certain threads run off the right side of the screen with no option to scroll over and read them-----only seems to happen on about 1 out of every 30 or so threads I open. Marcy
I use Camino under OS X 10.3.7 (on 3 different Macs) and I'm good... though I tried Safari the other day, and I had the same issues mentioned above. I haven't launched IE in months.
As Chrisman said in safari the masthead doesn't line up. Mozilla rocks! Firefox and Camino all look fine. Don't use Explorer so I wouldn't know. Otherwise it's been most excellent. And thanks for taking the time to look at this for us...
I'm running 10.3.7 In IE 5.2 I was having the same problem as tikEK last week, but it looks better today. In Safari 1.2.2, it looks just like the second image that chrisman posted with the big white square in the header.
I think I may have been the first person to report the problem with Safari on Mac. I am running Safari 1.2.4. The problem looks exactly like the second image posted by Chrisman. The window defaults to a wide width, leaving the white gap in between header elements. I appreciate the effort to make the new format work properly. I got tired of this kind of thing, so I stopped building websites.
Mine works most of the time. I'm running OS 9.2 and IE. I hope it keeps working as all my dough is earmarked for my cars. I do not want to buy a new 'puter.
That's because you haven't given them your credit card details yet...! Opens fine in safari on OS 10.3.7, except the masthead gap, and OK in IE on os9.1 as well. Well, as OK as IE ever looked.
I've been having the split masthead problem in safari like everyone said. I will check tonight when I get home to see if its still there
Safari 1.24 on Mac OS 10.3.7 does not display the "Weekly View" and "Yearly View". IE 5.2.3 displays as expected. See screen shots below.
This is the only problem that I'm having when I'm on my Mac. I'm running OSX, but am using Netscape 7 and it boots into classic to run.
I use a Mac. The new site works so much faster than the old site for me. Page loads for the old site would take 30 seconds or more. Nice work in general on the new site, but the speed has made it so much more usable for Macs.
I'm on OSX as well using Safari and it seems fine except for that thing on the top, the menu banner has this empty white box on it.
