Hoarders ****, but I still like looking at vintage tin!

  6. You want him to sell them? Move to the town the cars are in. Be the a**hole he complains they are an eye sore and he will get a notice to get them out. done.

Then when he has them for sale, you buy them and be labeled the a**hole he got the law on his *** so he would sell to you.

  7. I've come to the conclusion over the years that the people owning them feel the same way... albeit, they don't want to see them jammed in a s**** book via a B&W picture, they want the "See it, Touch it" version, or like this old guy that lives on the ranch behind me (with a couple of old '32's that used to run out at Raisin City Dragways) told me "If you don't need the money, and it's part of your past - you ain't gonna let it go - it kinda gives ya an anchor".

I know we all get pissed as hell over seeing these pics and even seeing them as we drive by, but to be honest, like alot of guys have said before in these type of threads, so many are waaay beyond being a project.

IMO I think deep down alot of us are more pissed that someone has yet to invent a time machine (c'mon it's the 21st century!), so we can snag this stuff 30-40 years earlier.

People have been collecting these cars since before WWII, I think it is great that there are still lots with 5-6 sitting around. You'd never see something like this on the East Coast, glad the cars are there for another generation to see.

  9. Old 21 inch model A wheel with shortened spokes so as to get a 16 inch rim welded back on.

That's gotta be the best explanation I ever heard somebody give for letting them rot.
Still kinda sad to see them return to dust though.

I too stopped there over a year ago, just thought it would be fun to share pics so I stopped by again. Yeah that 34 is rough, but looks a lot like my coupe early in the build. I also dig how he tack welded the sheet metal in place, I dont want just the hood, I want the whole car.

I have always heard that he just collects... the pics were taken yesturday. ***umptions?

Well some one had to ask........:p:rolleyes::D

wait a sec. let me get the phone # for you and the price sheet he printed up or his inventory.......

Hey easy guys, he is "going to fix them up", that statement should be one of the three biggest lies. ~Sololobo~

    I like the bus myself,,

I believe they ALL belong to him and at some point in time He acquired them and they are his to do as he sees fit, personally I don't get all the animosity about someone elses junk, yard art, or projects.

I have an acquaintance localy who has probably 60 old cars in various stages of repair,,a very nice 32 3-window,at least 8 33-34 Ford Coupes and sedans along with 30-40 other pre40's cars and is he a hoarder,,yeah he started when he was a kid,,he's now in his late 60's and nothing is for sale,,if he has a small part you really need,,he will give it to you but he won't part with any of the cars.

What's he going to do with all the cars,,who knows,,several of them run or have ran in the last few years,I see him all the time but I never see him in any of the old cars.

Someday he will meet his maker and their will be a big auction.

Bottom line these guys have some kind of connection with their cars and want to keep them,If it wasn't for guys like this a believe a lot of us wouldn't own the cars we own now.,does that make them A$$holes like some of you suggest,I don't think so. HRP

While I hate people who get stuff just to let it rust away, it IS wheir property and if they want to let it go...so be it.

People pestered me about my F-1 for years and I said the same thing...that I was going to build it...its not for sale...get the hell off my lawn. What was more annoying was people kept at it until I put it away. They would still stop by, but I told em I sold it so they would just leave me alone.

All you guys who cry about this owner never "fixing them up" should go grab a hanky and shut up. He HAS fixed them up. They are all a cobbled together conglomeration of parts that look good from the road, but are ultra-rough up close. He has welded them together as yard art. That is their purpose.

    Cool.

I love all the armchair quarterhacks who sit and ***** instead of turning rusty piles of worthless junk into hotrods.

you don't need to be an "armchair quarterback" to wish all this tin had ended up with a better fate. If these pics don't trouble you in some way then you have a problem. My dog makes yard art all the time, those cars should not be yard art. That is history rotting away in the weather. Just my opinion and I have a right to it just like he has a right to do what he's doing.

yeah, most of them are as good or better than what I started with ( and nosurf) and if most were to check them out, they would be considered worthless. This stuff is still out there.... just dont ask your street rod buddies, cause stuff like this is considered junk. You have to get out of your chair and dig up some leads... they dont all pan out... but keep lookin.

While I don't have any time for hoarders, it is good to know the stuff is out there. Now we just have to figure out how to get it!

Don't worry folks. In a few years the hoarding ***hole will die and his son will be eager to get rid of all the "junk" in the back yard. The unfortunate part is the ***hole didn't die 20 years ago.

All of our cars will be rust one day......Sad but true...at least if a kid today sees those rusted relics of great days gone by, we can only hope they will ask, "Daddy, what is that?" That is an old Ford son, a real peice of America! Hope the sparks fly! We need America to be great again!
