Allways nice to see an old Austin get the g***er treatment. Don,t dice the wheels. They are just what someone else is looking for. Here,s an example.
looking good. nice to see someone working even tho you dont have a huge shop to work in ..... true hotrodder!
That is a pre war austin. The 46'-54's were all the same,The 2dr austin dorset's were only 46'-48' the 4dr austin devon's were 46'-54' Yours is a pre war, austin works started a whole new line in 46' after the war. They did not use the old style body,as they thought it was outdated.
Very cool, do you know what the weight is going to be about when its done?? It cant weigh much over 2000 as it sits right now. Jon
It always great to see other folks like the Austins like I do .... it helps that Austin is my last name. My interst lies in the 48 & 49s. I am fortunate to have several. Check out my pix if you get a moment. Good luck on your project. Dennis Austin
hi, your Austin looks like an 8 or a 10. I had a 1939 Austin 8 and was given the ...ahem....pro street look back in the 90's. Ran a tuned V8 and was severely channeled. Owners club were a bit miffed as apparently there were not many 2 door saloons made and this was one of the last !! Best of luck
not an Austin but a cool little 4 door Prefect. This car belongs to my friend Gary and he beats on it regularly
X2! subscribed. Ran across a dusty old Anglia G***er yesterday, built in the '60s. Has an sbc, 4 speed, 4 link etc. I was digging it till I found out the $6500 price. Cars like yours and the Anglia gotta be a wild ride! Looking forward to this build.
While not a g***er I did save an Austin from the woods and did this with it . I was told by the gentleman that sold it to me that it was a 48 Devon. I still have the hood if anyone needs it, and please correct me about the model and age if need be.
Great to see your deadication to this project and the fact that you made a shelter to build it in proves it. Keep going, your doing a great job!
Going to be a damn cool g***er when done! I like Austins, VERY few around too. Keep up the good work!
I'm keeping an eye on this build. I have a '37 Austin 10 that needs doing... Looks something like this (but rougher, LOL) The biggest problem is I have no idea what to do about the track width. There's just nothing in the US with that narrow of a front end, unless I go straight alxe and mod it like you did... Which is now an option on my list.
