I came across a good deal on a untouched 34 plymouth . I might just have to buy it . i would like to see some pics before I make up my mind.
damn, i wish i had a pic of this guy named Bob's 33 plymouth in brevard county florida. it's so freaking awesome. it's nice, in fact, a little too nice (chromed underneath and everything...) but he did chop it and lower it perfectly to my taste, (he needs a crystal ball off the rear-view mirror to see traffic light, and i think it has the standard 350 engine... but it least it breaks up the 32 ford after 32 ford usual situation. i'll call my uncle and see if he can get me a picture to scan. (he's totally against computers)
So would I ,a friend of mine has a 34' tudor sedan with suicide doors. He is about to start building it in to a fenderless traditional, with a 331 hemi.Im trying to talk him in to letting me wedge chop the **** out of it.Maybe some pics might help me convince him.
Try Google search on "33 plymouth" First thing to come up is an excellent source of reference. Main difference you'll notice on a 34 is that the dash gauge cluster is centered to the driver where previous years it was centered to the car.
googles first link to 34 related site is broke, but 33 works and list 92 pics. www.carnut.com/photo/list/ply33.html I can't find it but once was directed to a 33 Plymouth site which showed detailed pics and listed production numbers for models of both 33 & 34 along with detailed descriptions. If you belong to the RRT, that's where I recieved the link to that site.
The new Street Rodder that just came out has a cool channeled 34 Plymouth coupe. I like them cause they allready look chopped ans they have suicide doors. Also try here http://carnut.com/photo/list/_ply30m.html I have found that anytime you want car pics that you can find them on carnut.com
Here is a similar car-[34Dodge] -I built ,its full fendered though.........But for comparison...........
I wouldn't do it. They **** and parts are really hard to get. That being said, I will take it and you can then find yourself a real car. When should I pick it up? Now if you still want it, I'll take the deck lid off your hands you won't need it. Here is an older pic of mine if it helps.
Be different and build it. I have a 33 that was started in the 50,s and drive it every day. It is full fendered which I just love. Some day I am going to put in the roof and AC. LATER
Thanks for all the pics guys . Im new at this so you guys might have to school me on some things . is there any thing about a 34 plymouth coupe that would make a low buck progect not so low buck . Thanks agin for the pics.
here is an old photo of a friends car that was built well over 25 years ago and he is still driving it,
A 34 Plymouth is much more advanced then many other makes cars of the 30s. It would come with hydralic brakes and much better suspension then many. Things that would be costly would be nearly any replacement original parts. Mopar 30s parts are hard to fnd and expensive because not as many were built and not many survived. If the plan is to street rod it and update to newer stuff it shouldn't be any more expensive then any other 30s car. Be different, build it all Mopar. Gene
There's a guy named Jim Ireland that build a bad *** '34 plymouth coupe.. sat way low...looked bad *** and was runnin a HEMI with a 4 pot intake.. Sorry, i don't have any pics of it.. But Spike (hotrodphotos) was hangin' around with him a couple years back in York...send him a pm..he might have a few pics of it to show you.. They are really cool looking cars btw. Tony
I dig Greg Porters car also. Glad to see it is finally in Street Rodder. The details of this car are stunning. Greg does excellent work. Justin
