First off, "code" would be a stamped series of numbers/letters, not a casting number...

V8 - casting number at the back of the block is not the engine code. The engine code is stamped on the small machined pad in front of the p***enger side cylinder head.

Just a couple of google searches resulted in this info,,
Here are two examples, what the block casting numbers(rear drivers trans mount flange) and the engine code pad(front p***enger block surface) look like,
Report back with pics or what you see on yours, we can figure it quick then,,,,

It's a 10066036 casting number, Target Master 350. Hecho en Mexico (made in Mexico). Some say lousy machine work, some swear by them. Personally, from my experience with one, I say the cast iron is "softer", as the one I had wore the bores quickly. It dropped #8 exhaust valve right after warranty. I'm going to be using the block to make a large journal 327. Butch/56sedandelivery.

This what I thought when I first saw the long code. Well the guy either new what the engine was or not. We all know its not a 327 like he claimed. Engine seams strong good oil pressure. I may just leave it in the Truck for now. Thanks to all who responded. I do have a large journal 327 ? Hmm.
