Anyone want to grab breakfast this Saturday AM? I've been wanting to do a "Second Saturday" breakfast for a while. We could meet somewhere, grab some breakfast, & be back home by mid morning. Just an excuse to get out once a month now that the show/run season is winding down. Anyone interested? Any suggestions on where to go? I've heard that there is a great diner in Maryville. JH
Kirby, if you show, I'll buy. Skwurl, I'm going to stick close to Knoxville or Maryville I believe. Trying to do something easy that could be regular for the locals. An occasional road trip might be fun though.... I need to get something local off the ground first. JH
just my $.02 but I think a place in Knoxville (as in downtown area) would be the most central meeting place would it not?
If I had anything that wasn't in pieces I'd show. Plus my other problem is my work schedule. I drive a truck always on Friday night which runs into the morning or I end up shafted working Saturday morning into night. But gotta come up with car cash and pay the bills. Thanks for the offer though. Keep me posted.
Sorry, I can't make it. 536 miles is too far. Maybe if I can get the same deal as Kirby I might think about it.......Have fun. Hope you have a good turn out......Don.
Unless someone has a better idea, let's meet at the Cracker Barrel at I-75 & Merchant's Drive at 8am Saturday. I may plan on hitting Pull-A-Part after breakfast. JH
So is it a requirement that I drive my old car? I live in a dorm in Murfreesoboro right now and I'm carpooling home for the weekend. Can I still come in my mom's late model car? lol
Hot rods are encouraged but drive whatever you like guys. I'll be in the '47. I'm trying to con Count S****ula into coming over from Crossville. I plan on hitting Pull-a-Part afterwards. JH
I'm new to the site but not to old rides, lol . I'd love to help get this off the ground. Just keep me posted as to the place and time. MARCEL
Hey Jim, This is the area we always stay in when we go to the NATS South. We always stay in that Hotel behind the Citgo...Ramada Inns and Suites I think it is. We eat at that same Cracker Barrel every year. Good location and that particular CB has fast service too! 48 Poncho...(Steve) Maybe Kirby can pick me up...I'm on the way...lol!
I'm sure Kirby could use come company on the ride over. Bring your tool box if you want to participate in the Pull-a-Part excursion. JH
Well, Haney & his dad, Chevguy37 & a friend, & I all made it this morning. It was nice to meet 4 guys I hadn't met before. It was a good time & pretty successful for the first attempt. The long distance award went to Chevguy37. Wears Valley to north Knoxville has to be a 40+ mile run - one way. Let's try it again on the second Saturday of November. The group can decide where to go. I don't mind a 40-50 mile commute if it makes it easier for others. Thanks for coming guys. Below is a picture of Doc's A sedan that I was talking about. I'm gettin that long distance award next time dang it. Keep us posted on where. Did you get to go junkin afterwards?
Sounds like a blast. I live right down the road from there. that cracker barrel would be perfect. hope to meet ya'll there next month, I'm rather new and haven't met any hamb'ers yet. I'll drive my '28.
Since it was in my neck of the woods. I think it'd only be fair to make it closer for the rest of the guys. I had a blast, if you keep it this side of Nashville I'll make the comute. Oh and thanks for the picture that is a beautiful truck I have a similar one that I've been looking at...
Good Idea Jim, I just now saw the message. I've been up in Sevierville trying to get all the Farm Work done up before cold weather and don't have internet access. Give me a call or drop me a note and I'll try to come to the next one. There is a Gunshow this weekend at Chilhowee park. We'll be getting together for breakfast at 08:00 Saturday at Shoney's on Rutledge pike.
