holly electric choke question

    can you get the power supply for the electric choke from the positive terminal on the coil. is this a safe place to draw from?

    this is on a 62 impala with a 327

    Key on power from the fuse block would be better. The choke gets hot because it's a controlled short circuit. You don't need a voltage drop at the coil. Most times it works ok but I've had no starts if the battery's low or the starter draws a lot.

    No because that sourse is resistored.
