I hear Bo Huff has cancer. Benefit show update! Please read!!!!

amen! i lost my mother to cancer! thank god she had insurance, but it didnt pay for everything! fight on Mr. Huff! fight on!

 

I have never met Bo Huff. I somehow managed to miss his being in Salina, KS last year. Going to his show has been one of those 'we will do that -next- year things. It fills me with this deep feeling of 'better start doing these things you keep talking about'.

The picture below(taken by Emily Dodge-Enigma Imagery) is of one of my younger brothers. Old car, beard, pretty lady, we refer to it as the 'Bo Jr.' picture. That picture in and of itself was one of the reasons we wanted to go to his show and meet him. I hope he pulls through so the beards can have drink

 

Bo Huff is an absolute king and I wish I was in a position to give more than I could give! You wouldnt believe the help, encouragement and friendship I have received from this cat in my life. It would take me 5 lifetimes to be anywhere near as fucking cool.

 

Times are tough here in Oz as well but not that tough that I can't spare some coin for a top mate, met Bo at Santa Maria 08, I don't think he was sober much, but had a great time with him and will be heading out to East Carbon next trip with a bottle or two of that rat poison he drinks. No doubt by now Bo will be toppin' up on chemo with Go Cat Go blastin' in the background. 100 bucks headin for Bo and I need a 55 Chev 3 spoke steering wheel in solid condition so if someone has one they don't want and want to donate it to the Bo fund let me know.

 

Talked to Bo yesterday and he is doing good. Started chemo yesterday but he is in great spirits. My wife, pinup Lacy Lane raised $165 at a car show selling posters and we decided to match that from our pocket. Every bit will help and we are hoping to come up with more as soon as we can. It is great that all of us car guys can pull together for one of us in need. Bo is very greatful and continues to ask for prayers.

 

Taken this last weekend. What you cant see are all the tubes (under his shirt) stuck in his chest and neck, and the pain he was in. But he was still at the shop doing what he could.

Aussie, that is a fantastic idea. Ryan is there a chance to open a classified section for use folks to post things for sale and allow the funds to help the family? I am sure we all have something laying around that somebody might just be looking for.

i`ve got an original piece of art ready to send for the auction...not sure it`ll make much but every bit will count....dont know the bloke but admire his work

 

Anybody know around what time of day the art auction will be held?
There are always a few people without a car to bring that would still love to spend $$$ for a good cause like this and I want to let them know whats up!

I don't know Bo . . . but he sounds like a cool dude and the real deal. Us HAMBers needs to help one another - so I'll PayPal him a bit o cash. Also, would be happy to donate something for a fund raiser -- hopefully I have something you guys need and are willing to support the Bo cause . . .

 

Bo did take his Merc to the Mecum Collector Car Auction in August which unfortunatly it didn't sell. They also lost the trans in there tow truck on the way and had to borrow a truck to make it to the auction.I had the pleasure of hanging with Bo and company for a while as we unloaded his car it ran out of gas so we helped get it going.Very nice people very appreciative it was my pleasure to help.
I wish Bo the best with his fight.

So glad you got this thread put back up, Matt. C'mon guys...just a couple $ each would help. Let's help Bo. He's done a lot for the hobby, and from what I hear, he's a down-to-earth kind of guy, a giver, and always willing to spend time with others.

Funny u guys say that i had just got off the phone with lalo from the deadsleds he drives a 49 ford coupe. Ive know the sleds for 9 years and he said nothing to me. But i want to the store 15mins later and theres the article in car club delux...wow so im trying to get the days off work so i can go to the show....
