So what did you get at the swap meet, and was i imagining it or was there a blue 33-34 fordor there for sale?? I dont think it even made it into the swap before it was bought up... Personally i didnt find shit... Well i found a cool bike frame to make a single speed out of, and thats it.. How about you guys??
Yeah, that 34 looked like a buy, the sign said $1500. I picked up several small trim stuff for some of my projects and feel I really scored on a air over hydrolic bumper/frame jack for $100, been wanting one for years but seems they are usally around $400/500. Got all excited about the cross-bolt 427 Ford with 4 speed, complete carb to pan with the factory cast headers. A bystandard said the guy wanted $500 for it, I was reaching for my wallet when it dawned on me, asked the guy "did he say 500 or just 5?". He said 5. My suspection was right, price was 5 grand. Cool though. Over all IMHO it was acres of junk (like 90% of it) that left me wondering why the bothered loading it up and hauling it there instead of the scrap yard. The project cars, geez, $6500 for a rusty, rough 35 Tudor shell? $5500 for a very rough 55 Bel air hardtop shell missing a bunch and needing a rear clip? Very little stuff that use to make swapmeet great.
yup, i got out of my car and started walking for the area i thought it was in and no 34... well some one got lucky. there was a guy out there with a 32 "heavy" axle, i corrected him that it was a not a heavy axle, but a 32-34 axle, and he got pretty pissed off at me saying what do i know...lol. thought i found the valve covers i need, but no they were staggered... arggghh. i wonder what was there on friday, proably nothing good, or there was buy beyond belief there...
FUCK EBAY... well for certian stuff its good, but they usually make you use their evil paypal buddies, and thats a no good with me. i have found that if you are patient enough and have the money at the right time you can get really lucky on this site.
The 34 was sitting in the far NE corner all morning Saturday, was still there when I left around 12:30. Must of missed that axle but there was a guy that had a A axle, mentioned he had a 32 "Heavy" axle for sale, didn't bring it. Turned out it was out of a 1 1/2 ton truck, yeah, it's heavy alright but not what we're looking for! Friday was sparce, not many venders.
yup, thats the guy that got mad at me... and how did i not see that car!!!! must of been distracted by my girlie lol i really wish they would have more swap meet through out the year, they started to have a few more down on south 2nd street, but i dont think it really caught on..
I got a Firestone heater, the round style with many vents - fan works. Four later style 70's? IHC cabover lights. Weird round air cleaner black with red mesh for a two or one barrel carb. A sculpture of transmission parts and push rods that looks like a spider in th emovie Matrix. And some Fisher body manuals.
