  1. The ULTIMATE 'T' of Bob Estes... wow, what a car! Full fendered, and banger powered too.

    Very nice find!

I am excited to see where you take this. I had so much fun building mine...and still have a blast driving it, glad to see more people taking an interest in the "Granddaddy's of Hot Rodding"!:D I thought was the only one for a while!

There is quite a bit of info here on the HAMB on these as well in the monthly "Banger Meeting" threads and others. I started one awhile back on "Gowjob tech" and had some good stuff in my thread on my '26 T roadster build, here are the links:

Hopefully these and others her on the HAMB can help you in this build.

    Look forward to your progress!

Um..... lose the top of the windsheild, keep the fenders, throw an ohv on there and lower it. that would be me. keep it together i would even try to keep some of the dirt on it, clean it but not to much i bet some of the dirt has been there since 1926.

After seeing it out in the sunshine I''m even more convinced I'd rod it with a clear conscience. Just about everything aside from the body will have to replaced or undergo an extensive restoration, and even the body will take gobs of work to restore. It's yours............do what you want............but the cry to restore or you'll burn in hell falls on deaf ears here.

Clayton I have to admit that your car is my inspiration... If I can squeeze just 1/10th of the coolness your ride has I will be happy.

I am gathering data, learning and getting myself ready before diving in.

    Cheers.

Thank you kindly, that is quite a compliment!

Model Ts are beautiful machines...simple, uncomplicated and reliable. They are also allot of fun to build because they're simple, dirt cheap to build and there are no rules :D.....pretty much anything goes. You can take it in any direction: Simple budget build (where even a hi-comp head, pistons and an overdrive will give her plenty of pep) or a more "top dollar" build with the correct OHV or OHC setup and all the other goodies.

you are starting off right, doing your homework. I recommend 2 books (if you don't have them already):

    1) the Ford T-1 Service Manual - This book will tell you EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know about Ts

    2) Murry Fahnstock's "Model T Speed Secrets: The Fast Ford Handbook" - This book contains almost every trick know to man about squeezing ever last drop of horse power and speed out of a Ts and T engines.

You have good project here are your plans are awesome. If there is anything you might need from me, PM me...I would be happy to help any way I can.

I need to locate somebody that can inspect and "true" the wheels on the '26.

Are there any HAMBers or folks that you may know of that can help me. Can be within 1 hour of Sacramento CA.

    Thanks in advance.

    PM me.

I agree completely. It may break the old woman's heart to see it as a hot rod.

got my eye on another car - if this sells I will move into another cool old find... keeping it hush-hush for now. If no sale then I will mothball this one until late next year.
