wanted to post a link to an article about 'Twin Cam' Tommy ****takes- a Sacto drag racer who has been working on his homemade quad cam hemi engined top fuel dragster NONSTOP since 1964! http://www.midtownmonthly.net/life/‘twin-cam’-tommy-****takes/ No wife, no vacations, no nothing- just working his day job, coming home and working on an engine that he designed while Lyndon Johnson was president! This guy is Sac's version of Burt Munro. He's built the heads from scratch - all with a small mill, metal lathe and hand tools. He's in his mid seventies now and is getting ready to run at the Sacramento Raceway on October 9 - if all goes well he should get up to around 300mph. I've helped him fire the thing up before and it is absolutely crazy. I can't wait to see him go next weekend.
